The Fortnite Icon Series brings real-life personalities from sports, entertainment, gaming, etc., into the game's loop in the form of skins and cosmetics. Epic has collaborated with over 20+ individuals and launched several Icon series skins that players have received well in the past.

From the very first Marshmello skin to the latest The Kid LAROI outfit, players have come across their favorite sports personalities, streamers, and musical artists and have spent their previous V-Bucks playing like them on Battle Royale Island. While some of these skins were well-received, others were disliked by the player community for their irrelevant outlook and functionality.

8 most disliked Fortnite Icon Series skins

8) Lebron James

Pro NBA baller turned actor, Lebron James arrived in Fortnite in 2021 during the release of his film Space Jam: A New Legacy. The cosmetic set featured two variants of the outfit. The first was with a black winged hoodie, and the second was his uniform from the film with the words Tune Squad written on the front.

While the film failed to impress fans of the franchise, his basketball fans who played the game weren't as impressed either. It was one of the most disliked Icon series collabs Epic attempted with an NBA player.

7) Marco Reus

One of the most random Icon Series collabs in Fortnite was with the german soccer player Marco Reus. The cosmetic bundle arrived in the game in 2021 and featured the "Three Wise Monkeys" emote, which is his signature celebration in soccer.

The soccer player, however, has a limited fanbase, due to which others who failed to recognize him disliked the skin and called it too basic and overpriced for their V-Bucks.

6) Harry Kane

Alongside the Marco Reus skin, Fortnite also released a cosmetic set of English soccer player Harry Kane, who failed to resemble the actual look of the athlete. While he is renowned in the European soccer scene, even his fans disliked the outfit released in Fortnite with highly limited colors and a basic design.

The outfit was released in 2021 and came with a "Sweet Victory" emote, which is the player's on-field celebration style.

5) Spacefarer Ariana Grande

Right after Ariana Grande's Rift Tour in 2021, a brand new outfit that featured the artist in a spacesuit was dropped in the Item Shop. The Spacefarer Ariana Grande Bundle had an additional style that could be unlocked after completing a set of quests.

While the standard version of the Ariana Grande skin was highly popular among fans, the Spacefarer failed to impress players and was disliked due to its size and weird outlook.

4) Marsha

The Marsha skin was dropped in the summer of 2022 as a snapshot of the original Marshmello outfit from Chapter 1. While this version was modeled on a female skin, the cosmetic was disliked by the community due to its dysfunctional style and inappropriate body-to-head ratio.

However, the community praised the additional variant added to the original Marshmello outfit that featured his skin in black and gold.

3) Marshinobi

Another skin from the Melloverse that was heavily criticized was Marshinobi - the ninja variant of Marshmello. The skin featured a cel-shaded design and was 2D animated as opposed to the Marsha and the original Marshmello skin.

The skin had an odd outfit that did not gel well enough with fans who preferred the original Marshmello bundle due to its simplicity and class. The Marshinobi outfit has since been considered a bad rip-off of Ninja-themed outfits.

2) Patrick Mahomes

NFL pro and quarterback Patrick Mahomes was the least-known Icon from the entire Fortnite series by the player base. With his extremely limited fan base, loopers who played the game saw his skin as a random drop in the Item Shop that wasn't worth spending their V-Bucks on.

To date, only a few limited players have this outfit in their lockers, and the rest are completely unfamiliar with the player itself and would rather not use it due to its basic design.

1) Ali-A

While he has a large fan base, Ali-A's Icon series skin sparked outrage amongst the player community as the YouTube content creator is often called out for his clickbait videos on the platform and misleading his audience into scams; however, those who liked the streamer's content bought the outfit with multiple selectable styles and his famous Diplodoculas emote.

But those who disliked the streamer stayed away from the outfit and even avoided jumping into a special creative island launched during the release of the skin to get free rewards.
