Shubman Gill [Player of the Match and skipper, Gujarat Titans]: There was a bit of chaos when we batted after the game but good to have a W after the match. The game plans were different, there was wind and rain in the first four five overs and once the powerplay was over, we planned to play our normal game. But it is difficult to bat with the game being stop start. It was a bit difficult thinking of batting in normal way with so many breaks but we decided to rotate strike. We though of it like frustrating test match session that didn't go our way but the universe helped us. Every contribution becomes crucial when the game goes to the last ball and those are the contributions that make the difference. Not easy for him from coming back from injury. The way he bowled today was good for us. Thoughts like these can creep in and we want to play one game at a time. It is all about coming into the game and playing it as per the situation

Gerald Coetzee (Gujarat Titans): "I was just going to see the ball and hit the ball. It looked like Deepak Chahar was going to go for the yorker. That bouncer surprised me. The Afrikaner in me loves celebrating. The team environment is very good. It is very relaxed. I know it looks very intense, but it is all planned. I have really loved it."

Hardik Pandya (Mumbai Indians captain): "Definitely a tough way to go down. But we fought well, especially with the kind of total we had. It was definitely not a 155-run wicket. We were short by 10-15 runs or maybe 30 runs. But we kept fighting. It was a game of margins. We were clinical with the catches. But we could have been better with no-balls. My no-balls. It is a crime. It comes back to bite you in T20s. In the first innings, the ground was not wet. In our bowling innings, the ball kept on getting wet. I don't know if it helped us or went against us. I am proud of the boys for they kept fighting and kept us in the game."

A rain classic this game. The game behaved like a see-saw throughout, changing the course unpredictably and having teams guessing about what DLS could do in when it comes to the game. No side left an inch in the game, but unfortunately, one of them had to end up on the losing side and it was Mumbai Indians . This game ends their six match winning streak and also helps GT register their first win at the Wankhede Stadium and also taking them to the top of the table.

Chasing 156 on a track that had something for the bowlers in the middle overs was going to be tough, but was made tougher when Trent Boult sent back Sai Sudharshan cheaply. From there on, Shubman Gill and Jos Buttler stitched a partnership in the middle. It looked like the game was going away from MI, with Gill being dropped. But soon after, Buttler was dismissed. GT, much like MI, too a timeout as the drizzle got heavier and were ahead in the game by 7 runs.

But when the game resumed, MI struck four times in four overs, reducing GT from 107/2 to 132/6. Jasprit Bumrah, who had bowled two overs before the break, completed the spell and got the better of Gill and Shahrukh Khan. Trent Boult accounted for Sherfane Rutherford while Ashwani Kumar bowled an excellent yorker to send Rashid Khan back in the hut. As MI were gearing up to the bowl the 19th over, rain once again made an appearance. In the end, an over was taken out of the game, with Rahul Tewatia, Gerald Coetzee and Arshad Khan ending the game in the last over.

MI had three bowlers pick up two wickets each, with Deepak Chahar adding one to his kitty. Trent Boult, who has been one of the best in the league in Powerplay, picked up the only wicket to fall. Ashwani Kumar, who came in as an impact sub and could have gotten two wickets in an over, did manage to get one in the form of Buttler and then managed to york Rashid Khan at his batting crease. But the best of the lot was Jasprit Bumrah, who bowled a tight spell at the top in the powerplay and then came back to bowl two overs and picked up two wickets, dismissing a well set Gill as well.

Arshad plunged his bat down it time and pushed the ball towards Hardik Pandya at mid-off, who wasn't standing too deep. Hence, had a fair chance of trying to effect a runout. Perhaps, he could have taken a bit more time. But all of that are now "what ifs". He hurled the ball as quickly as he could and the throw was off-target. Arshad finishes 1* — a run that he will be telling his grandkids about one day.

But there was room on offer. Coetzee backed away and had a swipe. The ball hung up for a bit giving Dhir ample time to run in from deep backward square leg to gobble it.
