The Minecraft Chase the Skies update is around the corner. Mojang has almost finished the update and is about to drop it in the coming weeks. Millions of players will be diving into the new update and checking out all its features. Before that, however, they must prepare themselves and their worlds for the new update by doing some activities.
Though these preparations are not compulsory, they will give players a head start and make the update experience more convenient. Here is a short preparation guide before the Chase the Skies update.
Preparations for the Minecraft Chase the Skies game drop
Collect ghast tears and soul sand blocks

Mojang will release a new block called dried ghast, which can be submerged in water to grow ghastling, which will eventually grow into a happy ghast. These blocks can either be found naturally near Soul Sand Valley fossil generations or can be crafted using eight ghast tears and soul sand blocks.
If players have already found a Soul Sand Valley biome in the previous game version, that biome will not naturally generate dried ghast blocks. However, players can start collecting lots of ghast tears and soul sand blocks in order to craft dried ghast blocks when it arrives with the Chase the Skies update.
Create a happy ghast station

Happy ghast is as massive as a regular Nether ghast. It can therefore be difficult to climb on and off the friendly mob when players reach their destination. Additionally, it may be challenging to draw the happy ghast close enough for people to remount on it because it will be flying over a large area, often several blocks high in the air.
Players can therefore build a basic happy ghast station like the one in the image above. The chests can contain harnesses, leads, and snowballs, all of which can be used to lure happy ghasts. With lead, the mob can also be tied to a fence block so that it does not wander around too much.
Avoid exploring for saddles and slime for lead

It is safe to say that many players must be searching for slime chunks to get slime balls for lead, while others must be exploring the world on foot to get a saddle. Those who are doing these activities should avoid them since the Chase the Skies game drop will be making saddles craftable and simplifying the lead's crafting recipe.
If players are getting frustrated while finding these two rare items, they can stop if they want, since saddles will only require three leathers and one iron ingot, while lead will require five strings to craft.
