Mojang is gearing up to release the 1.20 update as they released Minecraft 1.20 pre-release 3 and 4 a day ago with several bug fixes and technical tweaks. As players eagerly wait for the update's release. In Minecraft 1.20 pre-releases 3 and 4, users have discovered something hilarious and fascinating. Mojang fixed an age-old bug that did not allow certain status effects to be applied to ridable mobs like horses, striders, and pigs.

However, this gave birth to a new feature where players can now glide while riding horses, camels, and other ridable mobs. Here is everything you need to know about the humorous feature:

How the feature came into being

The sandbox game still has loads of bugs that have not been fixed. Furthermore, if a bug gets fixed, that can lead to some other fascinating features popping up. This is exactly what happened with the gliding, ridable mobs. Mojang removed an extremely old bug about how to jump boost, slow falling, and levitation do not apply to a ridden horse, pig, or strider until after a relog.

As soon as this bug was fixed, it resulted in these mobs jumping high and falling slowly when they had the status effect. Since the 1.20 update adds another ridable mob, Camel, it will also be affected by the feature.

Since the hype for the 1.20 update is at its peak, several players are downloading the beta version and keeping tabs on changes made by Mojang. As this is a fun and hilarious feature, it was discussed at length on the game's official Minecraft Reddit page.

This is also a great way to safely transport mobs from one place to another and prevent them from getting fall damage.

How to experience this bug in the pre-release

If players want to try the bug themselves, they can head to the official game launcher and download the latest pre-release of Minecraft 1.20. After that, they head into a new world in the game. They can easily try this bug in the creative mode to easily tame a horse and get both slow-falling and leaping splash potion.

Simply fit the saddle on the tamed horse and throw both potions towards it to apply the status effect. Once this is done, players can simply ride the horse and jump. The jump boost will let horses jump higher, after which they will gradually glide down to the ground due to the slow falling effect.

Since the new camel mob dashes forward instead of jumping high, players can even launch themselves off a cliff by dashing and then keep gliding on the camel for quite a few blocks.
