The project has had quite a tumultuous history, going through directors, writers, and stars several times. Things seem to finally be calming down, with filming having wrapped up recently.
One of the most interesting and exciting casting choices for this movie is Jack Black, who also starred in the recent Super Mario Bros. movie as Bowser.
