Dune Awakening: How to get to Arrakeen

Dune Awakening features two major social hubs: Arrakeen and Harko Village. These are going to be important places to go, whether you want to work on quest chains for advanced skills, paying your taxes, or trading with other players for important resources like Gun Parts or Complex Machinery. A huge city, where players can meet and chat, regardless of their guild affiliation, or which House Major they support.

Unless you have the right mode of travel, or a friend who can get you there, it’s expensive to arrive in Arrakeen in Dune Awakening. This is even more unfortunate, because many important things are in this social hub. If you’re stumped on how to get there, read on.

How to get to the Arrakeen social hub in Dune Awakening

There are two ways into Arrakeen in Dune Awakening: You either need an Ornithopter, or access to the Ornithopter Travel Service in one of the Trading Posts. Technically, there’s a third option, though. If you have a friend that has a two-seater Ornithopter (Assault Ornithopter Cabin Mk5 for example), they can just fly you to where you need to go.

If you have access to an Ornithopter, the easiest way into Arrakeen in Dune Awakening is to fly to the closest edge of the Hagga Basin map to you. This takes you to the overworld, and you can then fly directly to Arrakeen, or Harko (or anywhere else on this map you may need to get to).

Otherwise, you have to head to one of the trading posts, such as the one in Hagga Basin South, and pay 2,500 Solaris for the privilege of flying to Arrakeen. At least the return trip is free, so there’s at least that. This means if you don’t have an Ornithopter, it’s even more expensive to pay the taxes on your base.

There are plenty of things to see and do in Arrakeen, too. There are merchants (Spice, Water, Scrap Trader), you also have the Bene Gesserit, Swordmaster, Trooper, and Mentat Advanced Trainers to visit. There’s also the Vehicle Vendor, and the Landsraad Vendors. It’s also nice to just interact with other players, so it’s a worthwhile trek.

Unfortunately, these are the only ways into Arrakeen for now. There’s no way you can walk there; the dunes are too vast, and the sandworms are far too hungry. If you want into the social hubs, you need an Ornithopter or enough Solaris to pay your way there.
