Complex Machinery isn’t too complex to farm in Dune Awakening, though it can be dangerous, and sometimes tedious to do. Unfortunately, due to the nature of this machinery being, well, complex, it’s not something that you can just fabricate. You’ve got to go out into the untamed wilds of Arrakis, track down people who already have it, and claim it as your own.
While you won’t need Complex Machinery to make your first sandbike in Dune Awakening, if you want the better versions, buggies, or even Ornithopters, you better be prepared to have a nice chunk of this metal lying about. If you’re seeking Complex Machinery, here’s how to get it.
How to farm Complex Machinery in Dune Awakening
My favorite places to farm Complex Machinery in Dune Awakening are factories like the Ironworks in Vermillius Gap. You just need to look through any of the factories and ironworks on Arrakis, and find the Ore Refineries, and any other machine that still has power running to it. These areas are marked with what looks like a mine cart and some diamonds.

Looting these often gives you a decent amount of Complex Machinery in Dune. I found myself looting these places early in my time in Vermillius Gap, because I was looking for other resources, like Armor Plating, and was hoping to find some Steel Ingot drops.
You’re going to find that Complex Machinery is going to be a very important resource in Dune Awakening. Any vehicle beyond your first sandbike inevitably needs it as a resource, so make sure you farm it any time you’re in a factory, ironworks, or even the Imperial Testing Stations.
Both areas have strong enemies in them, so you really have to exercise caution. Go in well prepared with the best armor and weapons you can craft. Depending on where you start in Vermillius Gap, you may be right next to an Ironworks, so do a little exploring. You can get other useful materials in these areas, too, so it’s worth the challenge.
Ironworks in particular can be dangerous, because they’re often vertical areas. You need to take precautions like bringing a Suspensor Belt, or have the Shigawire Cable from the Trooper skills.
