Final Fantasy XIV has a lot of different crafting materials players need to keep up with, and that includes Immutable Solution. This is a unique material that can be used to create certain special gear, namely the new Pactmaker set of crafting/gathering equipment. Once upon a time, this was must-have gear, but now, in the days of Dawntrail, it's likely only usable as a cosmetic.

Immutable Solution is one of many special crafting reagents found in Final Fantasy XIV. During the Endwalker expansion, the material was important and worth farming if you wanted amazing, up-to-date gear. However, there's a method that's far less time-consuming in 2025.

How to unlock Purple Scrip to get Immutable Solution in Final Fantasy XIV

Final Fantasy XIV players seeking Immutable Solution have a pair of methods they can employ, though one is admittedly much easier than the other. The primary method, which was used in the Endwalker expansion, involves farming Purple Crafter's Scrip and then visiting one of the Scrip Exchange Vendors.

Scrip Exchange Vendors can be found in pretty much every major city in the land, so it's really easy to just pick the area you're crafting/gathering in and find the closest city. Here are the locations of all the Scrip Vendors:

  • Ul'dah: Steps of Thal (14.2, 10.8)
  • Old Gridania (14.1, 9.1)
  • Limsa Lominsa Lower Decks (6.0, 11.9)
  • Idyllshire (5.7, 7.0)
  • Mor Dhona (22.4, 6.7)
  • Rhalgr's Reach (9.9, 12.5)
  • The Ruby Sea (28.3, 15.3)
  • Eulmore (11.5, 10.7)
  • The Crystarium (9.8, 8.5)
  • The Firmament (14.2, 12.6)
  • The Firmament (9.8, 8.4)
  • Old Sharlayan (4.9, 9.3)
  • Radz-at-Han (11.5, 9.5)
  • Il Mheg (16.5, 33.9)
  • Labyrinthos (20.3, 20.3)
  • Tuliyollal (16.2, 11.1)
  • SHaaloani (14.2, 192)
  • Solution Nine (9.2, 13.3)
  • Old Sharlayan (11.6, 11.2)

Once players find a Scrip Exchange Vendor, they will need to present them with 125 Purple Crafters Scrip, and in exchange, they will receive 1x Immutable Solution. Thankfully, most recipes only require 1-2 Immutable Solution in Final Fantasy XIV, meaning you won't need to spend too much time grinding for the Purple Crafters Scrip.

If you visit the Appraiser, you'll be given lists of items for a variety of level brackets. Bringing the right gear, with high levels of Collectibility, will reward you with Purple Crafter's Scrip. You can also farm it from Custom Deliveries, so that's another option.

Once you have the desired amount of Immutable Solution in Final Fantasy XIV, you can start crafting the Pactmaker gear, provided you're at least level 90 in that crafting job. That makes sense, as this gear was first made available in the Endwalker expansion.

While Immutable Solution isn't as important anymore, if you're looking to add the looks of those older crafting/gathering items to your collection of cosmetics, there's a much easier way to unlock this crafting reagent.

Purchasing Immutable Solution on the Market Board is the fastest way to unlock the crafting reagent

If you want to save your Purple Crafters' Scrip for other things in Final Fantasy XIV, such as level 90 crafting/gathering gear, you can simply buy Immutable Solution on the Market Board. The material is incredibly cheap to purchase, no matter the server you are on, at least in my experience.

On Diabolos, for example, I can buy 4 Immutable Solution for about 2K Gil. It shouldn't cost you a lot of Gil to get as many of them as you need, and this requires far less effort than fiddling with the Appraisal system.
