WoW The War Within’s Nerubian Pheromone Secreter is a really interesting trinket players can purchase in Azj-Kahet. Although some aren’t impressed with the work that goes into using it, or how quickly they have to respond to the special effect it offers, others love it, but just aren’t sure of how to make the most of it. Still, purchasing it is just the first step.

You can buy the Nerubian Pheromone Secreter in WoW The War Within’s City of Threads, from Lady Vinazian or Y’tekhi. There are two known versions of the trinket as of the time of this writing (one Rare and one Epic), but depending on your renown levels here, you may see anything from “0-3 Fragrances” in the statline. Here’s everything you need to know about this new Warcraft trinket.

Purchasing a Nerubian Pheromone Secreter in WoW The War Within is just the first step. There are three sub-factions of renown in this area: The General, The Vizier, and The Weaver. Reaching “Accomplice” renown with each of these factions will add another slot of Pheromones to the trinket.

This will take some work, depending on how diligent you are with farming Renown/Reputation in this area. Still, once you have the Fragrances, you slot them into the trinket, so they can trigger in battle.

The way it works is that while in battle, this trinket has a chance to trigger up to 3 Pheromones around you. Touching them will increase specific stats for a limited time. However, this does nothing for you, until you have purchased the various Pheromones, and thankfully, they are inexpensive and easy to find.

You cannot purchase the Pheromones for the Nerubian Pheromone Secreter in WoW The War Within until you’ve gone far enough in the Main Story to be able to interact with vendors in the City of Threads, or unlocked Adventure Mode for your alts. Once you have achieved either requirement, head to the City of Threads.

Don’t activate the waypoints/TomTom locations mentioned below until you’re in the City of Threads since this area has its own coordinates, separate from the rest of Azj-Kahet. Just head to the merchants, purchase the Fragrance they sell for 150 Kej, and move on.

You can slot these Fragrances into your Nerubian Pheromone Secreter the way you would any other gemstone in WoW. It’s very easy to do, and you can slot up to three, depending on your Renown with the sub-factions of Azj-Kahet.
