Introduction to Quordle Achievements
Added two years ago, Quordle brought achievements into the fray and it turned the tide for the viral word game as it attracted a lot more users and became one of the first modern word games to do so. That’s because many of the achievements feature long-term goals that are effectively designed to keep players engaged and motivated to keep playing Quordle.
These achievements range from winning a Quordle game in nine turns or winning 1000 daily games to winning a game with four guesses or specific gameplay achievements. There’s even an achievement for those that manage to solve a daily puzzle for 100 straight days which then extends to 500 days. In fact with the exception of a few achievements, most of Quordle’s achievements are in a tiered system.
Thus once users get past one tier, there’s another one waiting for them which keeps them motivated and challenged enough to keep going even further.
How to track your Achievement progress?
Because Quordle’s creators kept things simple with their user interface, it has made everything very easy for players to access things within the game. From changing the game mode to accessing the achievements, everything is simply at the tap of a list. Here’s how to view the achievements list:
Open Quordle on Merriam-Webster’s website.
The game usually opens on the Daily: Classic page and all players have to do is click on the three dots on the far right of the screen, above the second grid in the top row.
From there, click on achievements, and a pop-up box will appear with all the available achievements.
The achievements are based on how players do within Quordle’s different game modes, including practice mode, and the game then tracks various statistics based on that. From words guessed to the number of guesses used per puzzle, the game tracks everything. They then sort everything and place it into one of the 45 different achievements for players to collect, which range from simple daily challenges to ones that could potentially last over 100 days.
The method shown above is for those who want to manually check their achievements at the end of their day but Quordle also notifies solvers when they unlock a new achievement. This happens via a pop-up as soon as the player hits the milestone. Unlike other games, there’s no particular trophy awarded but instead, a box gets ticked off in the achievements tab.
What are the different Achievements?
Introduced in 2022, the achievements section in Quordle has played a role in the game going viral rapidly as it gave players a tangible way to track their prowess within the game. That combined with the fact that solvers could share them across social media only added to the excitement. These achievements, placed in a tiered range, vary from sharing a game result or playing a certain number of words to winning a game in four guesses.
