Who is the Crew Chief of Ryan Blaney?

Ryan Blaney is an active racer in the stock car racing series NASCAR. He drives full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series for Team Penske and is the 2023 Cup Series champion. Blaney was a part of the 2024 Championship 4 with three victories in the season. He is a second-generation NASCAR racer, succeeding his father Dave Blaney. He is among the few drivers in NASCAR to have won a race in the three NASCAR series at the same track, becoming the 10th driver to do so by winning at the Iowa Speedway.

Ryan Blaney finished the 2024 season runner-up in the driver standings after losing the race victory of the final race to teammate, Joey Logano. Blaney has been racing in the Cup Series for 11 years and started 342 races as of February 2025. He joined Team Penske in 2018, to drive their No. 12 Ford Mustang. Blaney has won one championship and 13 races in the Cup Series and also has 149 top-10s to his name as of February 2025.

Ryan Blaney Crew Chief

As per the official website of Team Penske, Jonathan Hassler has served at Team Penske for 16 years in different roles. He was appointed as the crew chief of Ryan Blaney in 2022. Before Penske, Hassler served as a crew chief for Wood Brothers Racing in the 2021 season of the NASCAR Cup Series.

Hassler has previous experience as a racing driver himself. He used to race go-karts when he was eight years old. He went on to race in sprint cars and also raced in some super late model races during his 20s. Hassler graduated from Purdue University in 2007 in Mechanical Engineering. He worked for Ginn Racing in 2007 until he joined Team Penske as a race engineer in 2008.

Jonathan Hassler has previously worked for notable drivers in the Cup Series as a race engineer. He has achieved victory with Bobby Allison at the Southern 500, with Brad Keselowski at the Brickyard 400, and with Ryan Blaney at the Coca-Cola 600 in 2023. Hassler is a native of Greencastle, Indiana in the United States. He likes to pursue skiing as a hobby and listens to country music.
