NASCAR is a sport that greets its audience with high-performance and a lot of nerve-wrecking moments. The elite celebration of America’s racing culture, NASCAR is known for its fast paced action and photo finishes. Motorsport events are often considered the prime spectacle of competition among participants.

In this genre, every participant is in a cut-throat competition for any position in the race just to gain valuable points. NASCAR has more than 30 drivers participating in its races. It has active veterans, outstanding rookies and even previous legends who try to compete in some of the popular races.

In such a huge array of contestants, it is obvious that there are many drivers who take it to the finish line and keep on fighting until the last moment. In these “last moments” we get photo finishes which involve a jaw dropping difference between two drivers that decides the race victory. And, in a sport like NASCAR where even milliseconds matter, these photo finishes represent some hundredths or thousandths of a second.

The closest NASCAR finish in history separated the winner and the runner up by a mere difference of 0.002 seconds. It is an interval impossible for the human eye to perceive, especially at the speeds of 190mph. The interval decided the winner between Ricky Craven and Kurt Busch at the 2003 Carolina Dodge Dealer’s 400. Ricky Craven was the winner of that race.
