Riley Herbst, born in Las Vegas, Nevada, on February 24, 1999, has been racing since childhood when he first took to the tracks with go-karts at five and advanced through formats like Legends cars and Super Late Models. He took the title in Speed Trucks at Irwindale Speedway in 2015 and stepped into the NASCAR K&N Pro Series in 2016. Herbst competed in his first start for Joe Gibbs Racing in the NASCAR Xfinity Series last June and will be driving the No. 18 full-time in 2020. In his rookie campaign, he made the playoffs, tallying 17 top-10 finishes with four top-fives to close out 12th in points.

In the 2024 season, he raced for Stewart-Haas Racing driving the No. 98 Ford Mustang. He started the year with a sixth-place finish at Daytona and drove consistently forward for the following 15 races with three top-five finishes and six top-tens.
