According to official NBC Records, J.D. McDuffe is the driver with most cup series starts without a victory. He raced in the NASCAR Cup Series from 1963 to 1991. McDuffe made 653 starts in the Cup Series achieving 106 Top-10s. He couldn’t achieve a victory throughout his Cup Series which abruptly ended on his death during the 1991 Budweiser at Glen.
His only pole position in NASCAR Cup Series came at the 1978 Delaware 500. McDuffe also had the record for most last place finishes in NASCAR history until Joe Nemechek surpassed. In 2016, he was given a tribute for his racing efforts by Front Row Motorsports and Landon Cassill.
