In the heart-pounding world of NASCAR, where speed reigns supreme and every fraction of a second counts, Goodyear tires play a pivotal role in NASCAR. From the roar of engines at Daytona to the tight turns of Martinsville, these tires are more than just rubber meeting the road. They're the critical connection between the driver and victory lane.

The importance of tires can not be overstated and requires extreme research and development. With the constant changes in regulations and car mechanisms, tires need to continually change to avoid various dangers on and off the track.

Tires supplier for NASCAR?

Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company is the official tire supplier for all the top levels of NASCAR. Goodyear and NASCAR signed a multi-year contract extension in December of 2022. This partnership has been a constant in the NASCAR realm and has been one of the longest partnerships in the sport. Goodyear has been the sole tire provider for NASCAR since the 1950s. Numerous innovations like the introduction of radial tires in 1989 fuel this 70-year partnership. Goodyear produces more than 100,000 tires each year for all the top series in NASCAR.

Goodyear is one of the largest tire companies in the world that has been around for more than a century. Goodyear is an American company just like NASCAR which is headquartered in the state of Ohio, USA. The bond shared between these two titans of their fields is further proved by the Goodyear 400, the NASCAR Cup Series race at the Darlington Raceway.

What size wheels are used in NASCAR?

Goodyear has been striving to push the tires to be more innovative and unveiled their plans for 18-inches tires in 2022. This 18-inch dimension is done in an effort to push NASCAR Stock cars to production cars.

These are the NextGen wheels which are 18 inches and comparatively heavier than the 15 inches wheel. These NextGen wheels are heavier making car handling tougher due to the larger moment of inertia.
