Zane Smith

Zane Michael Smith is an American professional stock car racing driver, who competes full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series, driving the No. 71 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for Spire Motorsports in association with Trackhouse Racing. Smith also competes part-time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, driving the No. 91 Chevrolet Silverado for McAnally-Hilgemann Racing. Smith started his racing career with go-kart racing in 2004 and won five championships back to back, before moving up to legends car racing. Smith debuted in the NASCAR Cup Series in the 2022 Enjoy Illinois 300, Gateway. He has not won any race in the NASCAR Cup Series yet but has managed to secure two top-ten finishes. Prior to this, Smith made his debut in the NASCAR Xfinity Series in the 2019 Boyd Gaming 300, Las Vegas. He managed to get eight top-ten finishes but has never won a race in the same.

The ARCA Menards Series saw Smith make his debut in the 2016 Eddie Gilstrap Motors Fall Classic, Salem. He won a total of four races, secured 26 top-ten finishes, and three pole positions. He won his first race in the 2018 Music City 200, Fairgrounds. Although Smith has not won a single race in the Cup Series or the Xfinity Series, he has won the most races in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, winning a total of nine races so far, securing 61 top-ten finishes, and three pole positions. He debuted in the Craftsman Truck Series in the 2018 Eaton 200, Gateway. Smith drove full-time in the Craftsman Truck Series for GMS Racing and finished second in the championship in 2020 and 2021. In his career of three years in the Cup Series, Smith has participated in 33 races and achieved 4 top-10s as of September 28, 2024.
