Early Life and Career

Andrade made his debut in the professional circuit a month before

turning 14 under the name Brilliante Jr after his father Jose Andrade Salas aka

Brilliante. Before joining WWE, Andrade has been a triple champion of the circuit,

holding the Mexican National Trios Championship, CMLL World Tag Team

Championship and NWA World Welterweight Championship together.

He also participated in New Japan Pro-Wrestling before making his

way to WWE. Here he was selected as La Sombra in 2010 to be the CMLL

Career at WWE

At WWE, Andrade made his ring debut at an NXT house show in Tampa. In November,

2018, he defeated Drew McIntyre, whom he had also faced previously, to become

the new NXT Champion. He went on to successfully defend his title against Johnny

Gargano at NXT Takeover: Philadelphia.

In April, 2018, Andrade and his manager Zelina Vega were both drafted to SmackDown where he had his first feud with former ally Sin Cara. He then experienced his first loss in the main roster by the-then WWE Champion AJ Styles.

Andrade along with Zelina Vega were then drafted to RAW as a part of the 2019 WWE Draft. In RAW, Andrade once again rekindled his rivalry with Sin Cara. After defeating Cara in a series of matches, La Sombra got his first loss handed to him on RAW by Humberto Carrillo.

Currently, Andrade is the United States Champion in his first reign after he defeated Rey Mysterio at a WWE Live Event held at Madison Square Garden on December 26, 2019.
