When it comes to the Pecharunt in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s Mochi Mayhem epilogue, Game Freak has put a lot of attention to detail. This is evident from a handful of easter eggs that you might have missed if you did not use Ogerpon and the Loyal Three against Pecharunt in the final battle of the Mochi Mayhem epilogue.

This interaction was pointed out by a Reddit user, Clockwork765, who stated:

"If you send out Ogerpon against Pecharunt, then you're greeted by a Warrior cry from Ogerpon as she prepares to kick serious b*ttock. It's Highly recommended. On another note, has anyone been able to try it with the Loyal Three? I didn't think of bringing them to the battle. Just wanted justice for our little green friend."

In this article, we will take a look at what unique interactions we can see if we use the Loyal Three and Ogerpon against Pecharunt in the final leg of the Mochi Mayhem epilogue in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Reddit user Clockwork765 shared their experience with Ogerpon and Pecharunt in the Mochi Mayhem epilogue of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

They said that there is a unique interaction where Ogerpon lets out a cry if you send this monster out to fight against Pecharunt. This aligns with past events where we have witnessed Ogerpon defeat the Loyal Three, Pecharunt's servant.

Now, the Loyal Three were retained by Pecharunt, and the latter was used to control them as puppets with its unique ability to poison its opponents with Malignant Chain.

As a result, Pecharunt lets out a cry whenever it sees Okidogi, Munkidori, or Fezandipiti as its opponent. The cries from Ogerpon or Pecharunt when they go up against each other, are justified since they are known to be rivals.

Pecharunt, the Subjugation Pokemon, is known to control the Loyal Three – Munkidori, Okidogi, and Fezandipiti. These three monsters are referred to as Retainer Pokemon. Now, the term “Retainer” means a servant. So, it is obvious that the Loyal Three are loyal to someone and that is none other than Pecharunt.

You might be wondering why the Loyal Three were obligated to serve Pecharunt, and we can see the reasons mentioned in the game while playing the Teal Mask DLC.

Paradise Barrens: Defeat Okidogi

“Okidogi was once a smaller and weaker Pokemon but a desire for strength led it to gain powerful muscles.”

Wisteria Pond: Defeat Munkidori

“Munkidori was originally a clumsy and dim-witted Pokemon but a longing for cleverness led it to gain great wisdom.”

Fellhorn Gorge: Defeat Fezandipiti

“Fezandipiti was once a Pokemon with short, dull feathers but a wish to be beautiful led it to gain an exquisite appearance.”

Owing to their personal wishes, the Loyal Three received their elemental typings – Fighting, Psychic, and Fairy – respectively. One might be quick to point out that this was indicative of Terapagos in the Indigo Disk DLC, as this monster can be seen granting wishes (Paradox Pokemon and Crystal Apocalypse). However, the Loyal Three do not follow this line of the DLC, as Terapagos is not the one responsible for granting the wishes of Okidogi, Munkidori, and Fezandipiti.

If you were to analyze the design of the Loyal Three, you would see a purple chain embracing each monster. Furthermore, all of the monsters have a Poison typing, which is nothing short of strange.

The Pokedex descriptions of these monsters in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet state that the Loyal Three have been chained by the toxins of their own desires. The chains around these three monsters induced toxins that altered their attributes.

There has been a mastermind behind the fulfillment of the wishes of these three innocent monsters in exchange for their loyalty and health. That mastermind is none other than Pecharunt, who we finally saw in the Mochi Mayhem epilogue of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Pecharunt, the Loyal Three, and Ogerpon are based on Momotaro, a Japanese folktale. However, unlike Momotaro, where Pecharunt is in the good pages, the roles are reversed in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

We can see residents of Kitakami sing songs about Ogerpon after the Loyal Three’s defeat at her hands. Imagine three Poison-type monsters losing to one Grass-type hero. The plot armor could not have been more impermeable.

That said, it is natural that Pecharunt is not very happy to see its former servants go up against it in the final stretch of the Mochi Mayhem epilogue in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Additionally, despite it being obvious that Ogerpon and Pecharunt don’t see eye to eye, it was really a fun little secret interaction that we were not quite expecting to see in the Mochi Mayhem epilogue.
