Love is Blind season 5 aired its chaotic finale on October 13. An experiment that started out with 28 hopefuls quickly whittled down to just three couples by the honeymoon phase, only two of whom made it to the altar, and just one said yes.

Warning: This article contains spoilers.

After returning from Mexico and going back to their real lives in Houston, they had the opportunity to meet their significant other's family and friends, which was tough on most of them. Izzy's finances seemed to be a major point of concern for Stacy and her family, which the couple even discussed one-on-one after the gathering.

The conversation left a bitter taste in their mouths, considering how close it was to the day they were to walk down the aisle. Despite the trials and tribulations, Stacy and Izzy got to the final day. Izzy said yes, but Stacy said no, stating it could have been different if they had more time. This has left fans curious about whether they're still together in 2023, since filming wrapped over a year ago. As of this writing, all indications point to a permanent breakup.

Love is Blind season 5: The tale of Stacy and Izzy doesn't have a happy ending

Izzy Zapata and Stacy Snyder formed an honest connection in the pods of Love is Blind and although their partnership faced several obstacles along the way, mainly along financial lines, it ended with Izzy proposing to Stacy. Stacy wholeheartedly accepted Izzy as her fiance, sight unseen, and they even reached the altar.

Unfortunately, since Love is Blind is an extremely accelerated experiment to find forever, while Izzy said, "I do," Stacy attributed her hesitations to the short time they'd had to make permanent plans and said "no." They did share a kiss after the altar, but Izzy quickly had an awakening and confessed to the cameras how, in his opinion, Stacy's decision was not okay, and said harsh words about her.

The Love is Blind installment was filmed a long time ago and viewers were expecting developments and grew eager to know what happened to the relationship between Stacy and Izzy. The franchise has seen couples continue dating after breaking it off at the altar, which sparked their interest further.

Shortly after the airing of the finale on October 13, both Stacy and Izzy individually gave exclusive interviews to People magazine.

Keeping in mind that the reunion this year is pre-recorded and not live and is also set to air on October 15, the reports from the magazine seem to be the latest and most concrete signs pointing to the fact that they're no longer a couple.

In her conversation, Stacy stated that after she heard Izzy's last Love is Blind confessional about her, she was taken aback but could empathize with it, confident that he was heartbroken by her decision and said it in the heat of the moment.

Citing money as the "number one reason for divorce," she also noted these conversations dented their relationship, as they happened two days before the wedding, but she believed they were necessary:

"The difference between relationships and marriages is you're binding everything together. That's serious. You need to know everything, the not-so-fun topics," Stacy said.

The Love is Blind woman said she would feel immense responsibility in case things fell apart after they got married, since she was always thinking ahead and was concerned when Izzy got a new job and was not able to clearly tell her about its pay breakdown.

She also clarified the claims that people were making about her wanting a "sugar daddy," saying that was never the case and that she was only looking for both partners to be able to contribute equally to the marriage financially.

"I don't want a man to support me, never want a man to support me. But I also don't want to support a man. I want both of us to bring something to the table," Stacy said.

In Izzy's exclusive with People, the Love is Blind man said that in the moment after he was left at the altar, he chose to put himself first, explaining the angered confessional. He expressed how he had put Stacy before him during their relationship and was "really hurt" by her choice. He also shared that he had a small feeling that she could say no, but remained "optimistic," which ultimately became "devastating."

Izzy acknowledged the timing of their financial feud as a potential dealbreaker for Stacy, prompting her to say no. He looked back fondly at their relationship, aside from these issues, recalling how they had electric "chemistry," and an "emotional bond." He also confirmed that they're still great friends and kept emphasizing "if we were together," indicating that they went their separate ways.

Social media posts also showed them attending a sports game, but separately.

Looking back at Izzy and Stacy's Love is Blind financial feud

After several complications, including a love triangle in the Love is Blind pods, Stacy and Izzy chose each other and even jet-setted to Mexico for the couples' getaway. It was when they returned to their real lives that things began going downhill for them.

On touring Izzy's apartment, Stacy was shocked to see what his bachelor days looked like, finding paper plates and plastic solo cups. She had always been able to afford a luxurious life through her earnings and family, which strengthened her belief that both partners should be able to contribute financially to a marriage.

This conversation continued when the Love is Blind couple had a rather awkward meeting with Stacy's family, where her father reinstated that Izzy would have to be able to provide her with the same lifestyle she'd been raised with, since "sometimes love wants to fly first-class."

Taking the discussion to their apartment, Stacy believed that marriage was not something to take lightly and that for it to be successful, topics like money and kids were crucial to dive into. However, since this argument happened only two days before they were set to tie the knot, Izzy was confident that things would work themselves out on the final day. But they didn't.

While only Lydia and Milton got married in the tenth episode of Love is Blind, the reunion will most certainly shed some more light on their relationship and those of the other couples. One thing's for sure: It's about to get explosive.

The season 5 reunion will air on October 15 at 8 pm ET on Netflix.
