The beginning of a Bomb Defusal mission is signalled by a countdown that appears at the top of the screen. You'll get 60 seconds to clear the area of criminals and defuse the explosive. Although you can trigger Flashtime and attempt to stop the bomb without beating the perpetrators, you'll risk becoming a much easier target.
