Extreme Rules 2014 - 5 Statements of Extreme Importance

And so the tradition continues and another Extreme Rules edition delivers a solid show. All of the matches, from the pre show till the main event had their own entertaining moments. Some of that entertainment was was superlative to the others.Here are the moments among moments which most probably will have a long lasting impact in the WWE and those that made quite a statement.

#1 FIRE! FIRE! FIRE!

The main event lighted up the arena, quite literally. Okay, the entire arena was not on fire.

And the fire wasn't the most surprising element of the main event but windows were broken, forklifts were used and through all of that Bryan inevitably came out as the fighting champion who won. Extreme Rules' extremeties came to a crescendo in the main event and the biggest point of this PPV, for me, was that Daniel Bryan- the undisputed champion- ended the night. That's something that WWE never allowed CM Punk to do as long as John Cena was present.

#2 BANG!BANG!

That's what Barrett did before an elbow drop on Big E and figuratively Bad News was on fire. His new gimmick allows him to be playful and yet intimidating. It's a great mixture. He's a champion again and with the kind of charisma and momentum that he carries, his reign is sure to watch out for. Hope there is some good news for the IC title history;

#3 THE BRAWL

THE BEST MATCH OF THE NIGHT.

The Shield have gone beyond analysis. Their performance combined with the the performance of Evolution provided a stellar battle. And it was not Reigns who was the one shiny diamond in the rough. Rollins piled on the entertainment by just being too quick and too free a bird flying all over the rin. Ambrose stayed in his elements which essentially means not staying in his elements. The young guns are the present and the future and in stark contrast to Wyatt and Cena, Evolution and The Shield laid a good foundation for the future.

#4 YYYAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

That's Paige's scream and it looks like it's going to stay for a long time to come. Ever since her arrival, she's had better matches than the entire divas division had in the past 2 years. Part of the reason is the the management really believes in her capabilities and looks. She hasn't had a defining match or feud but the WWE is slowly building towards it. Her character is sure to get more and more attention and her reign has already become more relevant than AJ Lee's or any other diva who held that Butterfly title.

#5 WHOOOOOSSHH!

nd that's probably how Cesaro's Giant Swing sounds per revolution. The first match of the night started off with a little pop for Paul Heyman, Cesaro's freaky strength, E-C-dub chants and RVD-ness and then concluded to be what it was supposed to be, a somewhat giant leap for Cesaro. It was surely an indication of many indications to come that Cesaro is the next best thing. And you know who was the first Next Big Thing? Paul Heyman's client who beat the Ubdertaker's streak. It might probably set up a match between Cesaro and Lesnar but that might be far into the future if Lesnar stays with teh company. But for now, Cesaro's the star.
