AC Ajaccio Football

Athletic Club Ajaccio or AC Ajaccio is a French club that was founded in 1910 and has its origins from the city of Ajaccio. iN 2011 the club was the runner up in the 2010–11 campaign in Ligue 2. They donned the Champion position on eight separate occssions that is in the years 1920, 1921, 1934, 1939, 1948, 1950, 1955 and 1964. Thery have been locked in fierce competition with rivals Gazélec Ajaccio and SC Bastia for a very long time now. Sometimes things out of so hand during the matches that took place in the 1940s that the audiences had to use their umbrellas as a shield yo protect them from the fights in the field. AC Ajaccio made their professional debut in 1965. Intiallt they had taken on the symbol of the polar bear as a mascot but then it was changed in favor of using a part of the Corsican flag in a stylized logo. Alain Orsoni is the President of the Club and Albert Emon is the coach of the first team. Some of their famous players of the past are Dominique Baratelli, Rolland Courbis, Sebastien Squillaci, Marius Tresor et al.
