Carlos Alcaraz shared his excitement about watching Novak Djokovic and Jannik Sinner's blockbuster clash in the semifinal of the 2025 French Open. The Spaniard received an entry into the final after Lorenzo Musetti retired mid-match due to a hamstring injury.
Alcaraz has been in fiery form at his French Open title defense, toppling opponents with ease one after another. The Spaniard kicked off his campaign by decimating Giulio Zeppieri, following which he clinched strong wins over Fabian Marozsan and Damir Dzumhur. He then scored a statement win against the 13th seed Ben Shelton in the fourth round and pulverized the 12th seed Tommy Paul to reach the semifinals.
Though Musetti came out all guns blazing against the World No. 2, winning the opening set, the Spaniard displayed his mettle to clinch the following two sets, before an unfortunate injury forced the eighth seed to retire from the match at 6-4, (3)6-7, 0-6, 0-2.
During his on-court interview, Carlos Alcaraz was asked if he would be watching the second semifinal of the night, which would see the World No. 1 Jannik Sinner taking on the three-time French Open champion Novak Djokovic in one of the most highly anticipated matches of the year. The Spaniard said:
"One of the best matchups that we have in tennis right now, Sinner against Djokovic, you know, it's, it's gonna be a great, great tennis. As a huge fan of tennis, I'm gonna watch it. I'm gonna enjoy."
He also added that besides the entertainment, he was planning to form some tactics as well.
"Obviously I'm gonna take tactics from that match, but, just, I think we, we all are gonna are gonna enjoy that match because I think they are gonna play a great, a great tennis." (2:30 onwards)"
Alcaraz has had his fair share of battles against both men already. He has faced the Italian 11 times and the Serb eight times.
Here's how Carlos Alcaraz has fared against Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic

Carlos Alcaraz has faced Jannik Sinner 11 times in his career. While their rivalry started in a topsy-turvy manner, with both men clinching wins over the other in some riveting matches, the Spaniard seems to have cracked the code, having won four straight matches against the World No. 1 and now leads 7-4.
It is worth noting that both men have contested in two finals so far. While Sinner won the final in Umag, Alcaraz clinched a comeback for the ages in Beijing.
On the other hand, Carlos Alcaraz has faced Novak Djokovic eight times. Though the Serb currently leads their rivalry 5-3, the two men also currently possess a very unpredictable rivalry where the matches could've gone either way.
They have contested in four finals, with both men having won two each. Funny enough, the only two Grand Slam finals so far have come at Wimbledon, which Alcaraz won both times, but their only clay court final, which came at the Paris Olympics final, was won by Djokovic.
Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic's rivalry currently stands at 4-4, and both men will have to push themselves to their limits in order to join Carlos Alcaraz in the final of the 2025 French Open.
