Rafael Nadal and luxury perfumer Henry Jacques have released a portable version of a perfume collection designed by the Spaniard and his wife, from which a single bottle reportedly sells for $41,900.

Rafael Nadal and his wife Maria Francisca Perello announced the partnership with Henry Jacques in November 2022, creating "a trio of beskope scents: one inspired by Nadal's very public reputation as a tennis great, one drawing from his private side, and a third formulated with the help with his wife, Maria Perello."

All three scents have now been released in solid perfume form as a portable alternative to a traditional liquid spray.

The fragrance does not come inexpensive, as the perfumes are limited to 120 editions and the price is set at $41,900 exclusively at Henry Jacques' Beverly Hills Boutique.

The first fragrance combines floral and herbal notes including coriander, thyme, violet, and lemon with the woody richness of cedar, sandalwood, and leather. The second fragrance is heavier with bergamot, jasmine, musk, and sandalwood.

The third fragrance, meanwhile, was designed by Maria Perello, and meant to complement the second fragrance.

"I envisioned this fragrance as a sense of security, self-confidence, uniqueness, strength, and completeness," Maria Francisca Perello said of the floral concoction in November. "I really wanted it to smell like elegance, and more importantly, happiness."

This isn't the first time that Rafael Nadal has collaborated with a luxury perfumer. The 22-time Grand Slam winner was the face of a campaign for Lanvin's L'Homme Sport in 2008 and represented Tommy Hilfiger's TH Bold in 2015.

Rafael Nadal informed the public of withdrawing from the 2023 French Open in a press conference on May 18. He stated that he hasn't recovered yet from the hip injury that has kept him out of competition since January. Nadal lost to Mackenzie McDonald in the second round of the 2023 Australian Open and hasn't played since.

The 14-time champion of the French Open won't play at the 2023 Wimbledon Championship either, as he has officially withdrawn from that tournament as well.

During the press conference, he also declared that 2024 will most likely be the last year of his career.

"I don't know if I'll be able to come back at the highest level and compete for Grand Slams. What I will try to do is to give myself the opportunity to go back to what could be my final year competing at the highest level," Rafael Nadal stated.

The 36-year-old is currently 15th in the ATP rankings, but being unranked is a possibility if he does not recover in time for the 2024 Australian Open.
