Let's be clear! What is the true definition of a movie cameo? To put it simply, it's a brief appearance by an actor in a particular scene. For the most part, they tend to be people who found fame in other areas such as actors, politicians, b-grade celebrities, comedians as well as WWE wrestlers.

For example, Stan Lee was known for his cameo appearances in every Marvel movie. It became part of the movie-going experience to see if Stan Lee would show up. Other famous people have shown up in feature films. Even the current president of the United States, Donald Trump, has shown up in films like Home Alone 2 and Zoolander.

Even WWE Wrestlers have been in several Hollywood films that the WWE Universe may not even remember. WWE Superstars are performers in their own right and while acting requires a different skillset, some have found success on the big screen such as The Rock and Batista to name a few.

CM Punk recently made his acting debut in 'Girl on the Third Floor' which has garnered him praise from critics for his starring role in the horror film.

Here are 10 WWE Movie cameos WWE fans may have missed.

#8 Edge in Highlander: Endgame (2000)

Edge has seen better roles since
Edge has seen better roles since

Some in the WWE Universe may not be fans of the Highlander series or even ever watched Highlander: Endgame. But believe it or not, the first Highlander was in 1986 with 4 subsequent sequels, 2 tv series, an animated film, and an animated series.

Before Marvel and DC, Highlander had built their own little universe and followed the adventures of Connor McCloud, an immortal who cannot die unless you take his head and the quickening. The TV series followed his cousin Duncan McCloud. Highlander: Endgame was meant to be a passing of the torch but it was a box-office disaster.

One of the more delightful things about Highlander was their flashbacks. Edge plays a conman or thief who ends in a fight with Connor and Duncan McCloud. Suffice to say, it was a cameo in its purest definition. Thankfully, Edge has a solid acting career post-wrestling with his appearances on The Flash and Vikings.

#7 MVP, Kane, The Great Khali, Mark Henry, Big Show and Chris Jericho in MacGruber (2011)

A WWE Team to Die For...
A WWE Team to Die For...

MacGruber was an SNL sketch that was turned into a major feature film in 2011. MacGruber was essentially a direct parody of a hit 80s tv show MacGyver. The film is in itself was parodying several action films from the 80s and 90s.

Specifically, in the scene where MacGruber recruits all the WWE superstars is reminiscent of Rambo 3 and other films like it. Chris Jericho probably has the most lines in this while the rest are just smiling at the camera as the music plays in the background.

Being a comedy and direct parodies of action films, things don't end well for the WWE wrestlers. Whilst all in the van, they all die in a truck. Not the best role but understandable considering the type of film they were in. Though, the main cast of MacGruber (Will Forte, Kristen Wiig, and Ryan Phillipe) all showed up on WWE Raw to promote the film. Some in the WWE Universe would say it was more memorable than the film itself.

#6 Jesse Ventura in Batman and Robin (1997)

Why Jesse Why?
Why Jesse Why?

Batman and Robin released in 1997 was considered the worst Batman film of all time. It was the nail on the coffin that forced Warner Bros to put a hold on their superhero franchises till the one and only Christopher Nolan revived Batman in Batman Begins and the subsequent Dark Knight Trilogy.

Jesse "The Body" Ventura had other roles that he was famous for such as his turn in the original Predator. Jesse Ventura thrilled the WWE Universe in the ring in front of thousands of adoring WWE fans. In this, he is killed by Uma Thurman's Poison Ivy as she breaks Arnold Schwarzenegger's, Mr. Freeze out of Arkham Asylum.

While his role was a blink and miss, he became the Governor of Minnesota in 1999. He even referred the main-event between Stone Cold Steve Austin, Mankind and Triple H at SummerSlam 1999. So, maybe Batman and Robin did something good after all.

#5 Kurt Angle in Pain and Gain (2013)

What's left to say about The Rock? He's the biggest movie star in the world. He hosts reality shows. He has a hit HBO tv show called Ballers which will be in its 5th season in 2019. But as The Brahma Bull has become a huge action star, he still found ways to flex his acting chops.

In what of Michael's Bay best films since ...well...The Rock (1996), The Great One stole the show in Pain and Gain. It was the true story of how a trio of bodybuilders who kidnap, extort and murder several individuals. Dwayne Johnson plays Paul Doyle, a born-again Christian who is addicted to cocaine and a simpleton at heart.

In one of the scenes flashback scenes of when Doyle is in Prison, he gets into a fight with a fellow prisoner, played by none other than the Kurt Angle. Oh, It's true! It's damn true! Let's just say the Olympic gold medalist doesn't fare well in the fight. The Rock vs Kurt Angle did not disappoint.

#4 Hulk Hogan in Rocky III (1982)

Rocky Balboa. The great story that has inspired WWE storytelling for years to come. While Rocky went the distance in Rocky 1, He went on to win the world title in Rocky 2. In Rocky 3, it's best put as a cross between action and drama. Unlike the first 2 films, Rocky Balboa was no longer the underdog.

The film shows what fame can do to a fighter once he goes soft. Moreover, it also depicts the commercial shenanigans that professional fighters engage in. Perhaps, Stallone who also wrote and directed the film drew inspiration of the time that Muhammad Ali tangled with Gorilla Monsoon inside a WWE ring in an impromptu match.

Hulk Hogan plays the part of Thunderlips where he has to take on Rocky Balboa in a charity event. It was supposed to be Boxing vs Wrestling but the scene is played more for laughs then having a serious match. It's also noted that this happened a couple of years before Hulkamania took over the American landscape.

#3 Kevin Nash in The Punisher (2004)

Big Sexy vs The Punisher
Big Sexy vs The Punisher

Kevin Nash is a WWE legend. He was the original members of the NWO as well as the Kliq. He helped shaped the wrestling landscape during the Monday Night Wars as well as being a multiple time world champion.

When he was still wrestling, he was getting movie roles. One of the better early roles that he had was a small role as The Russian in The Punisher in 2004. While the role is small and he has no dialogue, it's extremely physical and advances the plot of the film.

Moreover, it adds layers to the Frank Castle character as he has to face off against a force of nature that's he's not used to. In one of the best scenes in the film, Kevin Nash and Frank Castle literally tear the house down as they engage in a drag-out fight. Kevin Nash has continued to have success appearing in such films as The Longest Yard, John Wick, Magic Mike, and Magic Mike XXL.

#2 Big Show in The Water Boy (1998)

Big Show when he was still The Giant in WCW
Big Show when he was still The Giant in WCW

While the world's largest athlete certain thrilled the WWE Universe with his feats in the ring, he was an equally gifted performer. Some of the Big Show's best moments in the WWE have come through jokes at his expense or him going all the way embracing his gimmick.

While he was still known as The Giant in WCW, Big Show appeared in the Adam Sandler comedy, The Waterboy. Adam Sandler plays a manchild who's a waterboy but is capable of great feats on the football field.

In the scene, Adam Sandler calls in to show to talk to his favorite wrestler "Captain Insano" to ask if he requires the services of a waterboy. Of course, when he reveals his age as 31, he has laughed at profusely. While this scene is comical, it proves to be a driving force for Sandler when playing football as he envisions people who have humiliated him and tears them down accordingly.

#1 Macho Man Randy Savage in Spider-Man (2002)

Macho Man as Bone Saw
Macho Man as Bone Saw

Macho Man could do it all. He was a talented in-ring performer. He could cut promos as good as anybody did in the business. His matches with Ricky Steamboat, Hulk Hogan, Jake The Snake and other WWE legends have stood the test of time.

When WCW closed their doors in 2001, Randy Savage didn't follow others back to WWE. While it's unknown why this happened, it was due to his longstanding feud with Vince McMahon. Nonetheless, Randy Savage bagged the role of what was the biggest film of 2002. His part as Bone Saw was pivotal in the film.

This is easily one of the better cameos by a WWE Wrestler or WWE legend. While the announcer of the match gives Peter Parker the Spider-Man name, it's the aftermath of the chain of events.

Randy Savage is excellent in this short scene, even though he loses the match. Peter Parker wins the match but is stiffed by the promoter who doesn't pay him his winnings. While the promoter is robbed, the same thief guns down Uncle Ben.

Macho Man may not be around anymore but he will always be remembered as the first man to beat by the cinematic Spider-Man.
