At Extreme Rules 2020, Rey Mysterio and Seth Rollins are scheduled to fight in an "Eye for an Eye" match, where according to WWE's official website, the winner can only be determined by extracting his opponent's eye.

Does that sound bizarre? Yes, of course, it does. WWE's history proves that the company has a knack for weird or unusual stipulations, and these ideas may or may not pay-off accordingly.

Let us know in the comments about some of WWE's strangest stipulation matches that are stuck in your mind forever.

With Seth Rollins and Rey Mysterio's "Eye for an Eye Match" in mind, here are the 5 most bizarre stipulation matches in WWE history.

#5 Gravy Bowl Match - WWE SmackDown (November 22, 2001)

Gravy and Divas?
Gravy and Divas?

We all know that times have changed a lot since the days when women used to wrestle in rather inappropriate matches in WWE.

But there is no denying that the Divas were involved in a wide variety of bizarre gimmick bouts throughout history, and the Gravy Bowl Match stands out as an absurd example.

If the purpose of these matches was to sell attractiveness to teenagers and young men, then why would you pair two beautiful women with a large bowl of...gravy?

Perhaps Vince McMahon may be the only one who can answer that question, but Trish Stratus and Stacy Keibler surely set the crowd on fire during a time when political correctness wasn't as relevant as it is today.

The match itself started off as a food fight, and Trish successfully retained her Women's Championship by tapping out her opponent inside the gravy bowl.

Although Jacqueline and Ivory fought in the first Gravy Bowl Match way back in 1999, Trish and Stacy's bout on the Thanksgiving episode of SmackDown has gained more attention over the years.

#4 Hardcore Evening Gown Match - WWE King of the Ring 2000

One Word: Bizarre!
One Word: Bizarre!

WWE recognizes Pat Patterson as the first-ever Intercontinental Champion whenever the title's prestigious history comes in play.

But the same man who was the inaugural Intercontinental Champion also took part in WWE's "Evening Gown Match", a stipulation which was usually reserved for Divas back in the day.

After a backstage incident, Vince McMahon had announced that Patterson would defend the Hardcore title against Gerald Brisco in a "Hardcore Evening Gown Match" at King of the Ring 2000.

As you might have guessed, two 50+ aged veterans dressing up as women and attempting to strip off each other's gowns was as embarrassing as it sounds. Due to the 24/7 rule in effect, Crash Holly intervened and pinned Patterson to become the new Hardcore Champion.

The 24/7 rule has led to some of the most bizarre WWE moments in history, but Patterson and Brisco's Hardcore Evening Gown Match was just too strange and cringeworthy for its own good.

Thankfully, we now live in an era where both male and female WWE Superstars won't resort to tearing apart each other's gowns for the sake of this unusual stipulation.

#3 Custody of Dominick Ladder Match - WWE SummerSlam 2005

Eddie Guerrero could have been Dominick's Papi!
Eddie Guerrero could have been Dominick's Papi!

Now that Rey Mysterio has to extract Seth Rollins' eye at WWE Extreme Rules 2020, there was a time when the legendary luchador had to fight for the custody of his own son.

Dominick has suddenly become an interesting topic of conversation in recent times, but his involvement in Mysterio's latest feuds against Brock Lesnar and Seth Rollins didn't mark the beginning of Dominick's association with WWE storylines.

During Mysterio's Custody Ladder Match against Eddie Guerrero at SummerSlam 2005, Dominick attempted to shake the ladder when Guerrero was about to secure the briefcase.

What did the briefcase contain, you ask? Apparently, legal documents pertaining to Dominick's custody were present inside a briefcase that was suspended over the ring, thanks to this bizarre stipulation.

In the kayfabe world, courts hardly matter when you can just fight to settle everything, I guess.

But could you imagine how different Rey Mysterio's WWE career would have been if Guerrero won this particular match at SummerSlam 2005?

Dominick is being launched as a legitimate Superstar under his father's guidance, but in WWE's fictional world, things may have been slightly different if Eddie Guerrero had obtained custody of Rey Mysterio's son.

#2 Kennel from Hell Match - WWE Unforgiven 1999

One of the worst matches that involved a Cell structure!
One of the worst matches that involved a Cell structure!

The Kennel from Hell Match is often regarded as one of the worst matches to feature WWE's "hellacious" cell structure.

Al Snow and Big Boss Man faced each other in this one-of-a-kind stipulation match for the Hardcore Championship.

The storyline leading up to this match didn't lack in any bizarre qualities at all. Leading up to the event, Al Snow's chihuahua, Pepper, was kidnapped by Big Boss Man. In a future segment, Boss Man had invited Snow for dinner, and he tricked the latter into eating his own dog, Pepper.

This lead to a bizarre "Kennel from Hell" match at WWE Unforgiven 1999. The difference here from a normal Cell match was that the Cell structure enclosed a Steel Cage, which meant that the participants had to escape both structures to win.

The idea itself was promising, but apart from the mediocre execution, what made it even worse was that WWE chose to introduce a pack of Rottweilers that surrounded the ring, and as you may have guessed, the dogs couldn't care less about what happened during this match.

Al Snow won the contest, but this bout is mostly remembered for its agonizing and bizarre details in WWE history.

#1 The Firefly Fun House Match - WWE WrestleMania 36

John Cena didn't
John Cena didn't "see" this coming

What was WWE's Firefly Fun House Match? Was it "real", or did it all exist in Bray Wyatt's demented mind? Was it even a match, to begin with?

Perhaps the most bizarre element of this stipulation is that even after having watched Bray Wyatt and John Cena's Firefly Fun House Match at WrestleMania 36, we still have no idea what the rules of this stipulation actually were.

The best way to describe its rules would be that there are no rules when "dream logic" comes into play.

In essence, this contest took a more psychological approach rather than opting for WWE's usual art of physical storytelling, and what we got in return was a surreal nightmare mixed with bouts of self-parody.

The Firefly Fun House Match provided a sneak-peek into John Cena's insecurities both inside and outside of WWE, where the past influenced the present. Bray Wyatt finally got his revenge at the cost of Cena's sanity.

Simply put, the bizarreness of Bray Wyatt and John Cena's Firefly Fun House Match stands as a reminder that there is no creative or fictional limit to convey a story within the realm of WWE.
