Like any professional sport, WWE competitors have to put constant strain on their bodies. The weekly wear-and-tear to put on quality shows for the audience often leads to injuries. In some unfortunate circumstances, superstars either botch their landing or moves.

A bunch of WWE talent are sidelined due to injuries. While some wrestlers should be ready within a few months, others might take longer to return and haven't been seen since last year. No official update has been given by either the company or the star.

Here are five currently injured WWE superstars and their expected return dates.

#5. Ciampa is expected to return in June 2023

Ciampa was last seen on the September 19, 2022, episode of WWE RAW. In an episode of Miz TV, he helped The A-Lister escape Dexter Lumis after the latter popped out of the ring. His last wrestling match was against Bobby Lashley in a house show in Bakersfield two days before that segment.

The Sicilian Psychopath is dealing with a hip injury and underwent surgery in late October. Since then, he has been vigorously training for a comeback.

He is estimated to return next month as per the medical timeline for such injuries and the positive reports from Johnny Gargano.

#4. Indi Hartwell could make a recovery until July 2023

During a top-rope spot executed by Tiffany Stratton, Indi Hartwell landed awkwardly on her feet and injured her ankle. She did manage to defend her NXT Women's Championship at Spring Breakin,' but her fight on April 25 remains her last dabble inside the ring.

Indi had to relinquish the title on the May 2 episode of NXT, a few days after she was drafted to WWE RAW. Fans are curious about how her run in the main roster will pan out. Depending on the severity, ankle sprains take six to twelve weeks to heal. Thus, she is expected to be back by July 2023.

#3. Bobby Roode's WWE future seems bleak

A highlight of live events, Bobby Roode, was last seen in a singles match against Omos on June 25, 2022, in Amarillo, Texas. PWInsider reported in November that he could be back soon, but his neck injury seems to be still giving him some problems.

The Glorious One underwent neck fusion surgery in December on his C5 and C6 vertebrae. Following his injury, it was believed that he would miss out on the entirety of 2022. The latest report indicates that he won't return this year as well.

It is unknown whether Roode will consider retirement in the near future. On a more positive note, there is a chance for him to pop up in 2024. Wrestling fans are already theorizing about his reunion with fellow 'Dirtyy Dawg' Dolph Ziggler.

#2. Kofi Kingston may return anytime now

During the March 3 edition of WWE Smackdown, Kofi Kingston was involved in a promo segment with Drew McIntyre, Sheamus, LA Knight, Xavier Woods, and Karrion Kross. The proceedings got heated, and it resulted in an all-out brawl.

McIntyre launched himself in a Somersault Dive over the top rope. Similar to Indi Hartwell's case, Kofi’s leg got twisted by Drew's impact. The New Day member was seen hobbling alongside Xavier Woods, and it was later revealed to be an ankle injury.

Kingston said that he had undergone a successful surgery two weeks after the injury. He is on crutches for now. His right ankle will keep him out of action for at least two months, meaning he could be back next month.

#1. Liv Morgan will take a few weeks to recover from her undisclosed injury

Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan were set to defend their Women's Tag Team Championship against Sonya Deville and Chelsea Green on the May 15 edition of WWE RAW. Yet, it was revealed before the match that Morgan had suffered an undisclosed injury.

The Miracle Kid is suspected to be dealing with an arm injury that occurred during her match against Damage CTRL. Raquel Rodriguez had to relinquish the tag titles due to her partner's condition.

Even though Dave Meltzer was hopeful of a return, we now have a Fatal Four-Way Tag Team Match to decide the next WWE Women's Tag Team Champions.

Liv is active on social media and would've given an update if she had gone out for a long time. Thus, her injury isn't likely to be serious. In case of a broken arm, she is expected to stay out of action for six to eight weeks. The former Money in the Bank winner is estimated to recover by July.
