The WWE Night of Champions Premium Live Event will take place on June 28, 2025, at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It is WWE's only event in the Gulf country this year, and the show is anticipated to be an exciting affair.
The finals of two major tournaments, King of the Ring and Queen of the Ring, will take place at the mega event. This will decide which two superstars will earn a title shot at SummerSlam in August. In addition, John Cena will get in a historic title clash against CM Punk, in what appears to be their last battle in WWE.
Cena has said that he plans to walk away as 'The Last Real Champ' with the title, a move intended to ruin wrestling. CM Punk aims to stop Cena from doing so. More matches will be announced in the upcoming episodes of RAW and SmackDown.
In this article, we will list five early predictions for WWE Night of Champions 2025.
WWE failed to hide these secrets - Check them out!
#5. Jade Cargill could become Queen of the Ring
Jade Cargill has a strong chance of becoming the Queen of the Ring this year. Last year, it was Nia Jax, who went on to dethrone Bayley for the WWE Women's Championship at SummerSlam. This year, it could be Cargill. The Storm has been on a rampage since returning at Elimination Chamber. After defeating Naomi at WrestleMania 41, her next big goal is to clinch the Women's Championship from Tiffany Stratton.
So far, Roxanne Perez has qualified for the semifinals of the tournament. Jade Cargill will compete in the first round of the tournament this week on SmackDown against Piper Niven, Michin, and Nia Jax. In this Fatal Four-Way match, Cargill appears as the strongest contender to win and advance to the finals of the tournament at WWE Night of Champions.
#4. Sami Zayn could win King of the Ring
Sami Zayn finally scored a comprehensive win this week on RAW by beating Dominik Mysterio, Penta, and Bron Breakker in the first round of the King of the Ring tournament. The Honorary Uce had experienced back-to-back defeats in WWE and had become more like a punching bag. With this victory, there is a chance he could go far in the tournament.
The only superstars who can beat him are Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes. Since Orton reached the finals of King of the Ring last year, he may not be booked for another final this year. That makes Cody Rhodes the only challenge for Sami Zayn this year. Furthermore, if the Canadian star turns heel, he could even defeat The American Nightmare in the finals of the tournament.
#3. Goldberg could dethrone Gunther at WWE Night of Champions
Gunther reclaimed the World Heavyweight Championship from Jey Uso this week on RAW. However, the WWE Universe could get another shock at Night of Champions if Goldberg dethrones Gunther to win the title.
The Hall of Famer had a tense moment with The Ring General at Bad Blood last year. Since then, rumors of his return to take on Gunther have circulated. Goldberg is expected to wrestle in his retirement match this summer, and at WWE Night of Champions, it could be his first match. He could claim the gold from Gunther and compete in two or three more matches before hanging up his boots at SummerSlam.
#2. John Cena could retain his title against CM Punk
Another big prediction for WWE Night of Champions is John Cena retaining his Undisputed WWE Championship against CM Punk. That can be the result of a disqualification, especially if Seth Rollins attacks Punk during the match. CM Punk will win the bout via DQ, but Cena will walk away with the title.
This could also create a possibility for yet another match between CM Punk and John Cena, and this can happen under the No Disqualification stipulation at SummerSlam.
#1. Roman Reigns could return to cost Seth Rollins his Money in the Bank contract
A big shocker of the night could be Roman Reigns finally returning to WWE at the PLE on June 28. There’s a good chance that Rollins will attempt a cash-in at Night of Champions, and Reigns may come back to spoil the party for The Architect.
The former Big Dog has unfinished business with Seth Rollins and Paul Heyman after what happened at WrestleMania 41 and the following night on Monday Night RAW.
Reigns' absence over the past two months is surprising, and the WWE creative team could bring him back for WWE Night of Champions. Roman Reigns is a major draw for the promotion, and his name sells. He can finally return at Night of Champions and end the show on a high note by laying waste to Seth Rollins when he tries to cash in.
