WWE Undisputed Champion John Cena has challenged CM Punk for one final battle at the Night of Champions Premium Live Event in Saudi Arabia on June 28, 2025. The two had a fiery exchange on Monday Night RAW this week, where CM Punk went off on Cena, charging that he'd become an evil man.

The Straight Edge Superstar talked about taking the title off Cena's shoulders before he leaves WWE. However, Punk's task may not be easy, as a current superstar could spoil the party.

John Cena might have to face the wrath of a 20-time WWE champion (14 of which are world titles) whom he recently defeated by unfair means. The star in question, Randy Orton, hasn't been seen in the company since losing the title match to Cena at Backlash. However, he has been announced to compete in the King of the Ring Fatal 4-way Tournament this week on SmackDown.

Fans speculate that Orton and Cody Rhodes could proceed to the finals of the tournament at Night of Champions. And if Orton loses to Cody, there are chances that The Viper could attack Cena during his fight against Punk, ending the match by disqualification.

Orton was more than incensed after losing to Cena in the title match, which was also believed to be their final clash in WWE. Losing in his hometown, St. Louis, and in front of his people in the manner he did will not sit right with him.

Therefore, to insert him once again in the title scene, the 14-time WWE World Champion could come out at Night of Champions, attack John Cena, and then take out CM Punk. This would bring him once again against Cena, and with Punk and Cody Rhodes also in the picture, the four legends could clash for the WWE Undisputed Championship at SummerSlam.

WWE veteran reveals why R-Truth isn't going after John Cena since his return

R-Truth made a shocking return at the Money in the Bank PLE and took out John Cena with a spear. The 53-year-old legend had squared off against Cena in a losing effort at Saturday Night's Main Event a few days back. After the event, Truth had disclosed on his social media account that he was being released by WWE after his contract expired.

The news, however, didn't go down well with his fans, and all across the WWE arenas and on social media, the chants of 'We want Truth' reverberated. The company brought back Truth to WWE, but he didn't speak about Cena. Instead, the former 24/7 champion thanked the fans for bringing him back.

According to former WWE writer Vince Russo, the company no longer wants to pursue Truth's storyline with Cena. While speaking on Legion of RAW on Sportskeeda WrestleBinge, Russo said that Truth's attack on Cena was just for the pop.

"I don't think it meant anything at all [about Truth attacking Cena] because that was just for a pop. They're not going nowhere with it," Russo said. [1:09:44 onwards]

Discussing John Cena's name-dropping of R-Truth on the show, Russo stated that it occurred because Cena says what he wants to say, while Truth is scripted by the writers.

Moreover, R-Truth is back this time with his real name, Ron Killings, and would be a more serious character, contrary to his earlier role in the company. It remains to be seen how far he goes in his third and likely final journey in the company.
