Money in the Bank is a mere few weeks away as we prepare ourselves for the first PPV since the epic WrestleMania 35. The Showcase of Immortals lived up to the hype as we enthralled to the core by the outcomings of the event.

Now bringing our attention to this year's MITB, the card is stacked up to give us all a night to remember as the matches in line do promise a captivating event.

WWE never fails to entice us and Money in the Bank may be no different! Here we list down 5 surprises that may be in store for the PPV:

#5 The New Day splits up

There is no doubt in The New Day being one of the greatest trios of all time. From record-breaking reigns to hosting WrestleMania, the 3-man group has been one of the top attractions in the company ever since it's inception.

Big E, Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston have travelled the world together and the three men share a pretty solid bond which has been showcased numerous times. Kingston's heroic WrestleMania journey wouldn't have been possible without his New Day brothers and it is fair to say that Xavier Woods and Big E were extremely instrumental in Kofi's triumph.

With that being said, avid WWE fans have long been waiting for the group to break up simply because all good things come to an end. It is the tradition of this company that famous factions tend to break in order to move the story forward. It has always been the case in WWE and may it never stop.

New Day recently recruited a new member in the form of Kevin Owens who took on the opportunity to fill in the void left by Big E. KO did try his best to replicate Big E but the former Universal Champion from Canada eventually came to his natural self and turned on Kofi and Xavier.

Kingston vs Owens ought to have some spice and what greater way to surprise the WWE Universe than break the eternal bond that the New Day stands for. Woods turning on Kingston might help him announce his singles run which now seems like the only great option for him on the roster. Owen leaving MITB with the championship won't surprise many as he surely belongs to the top tier and this will definitely open the gates to many intriguing storylines.

#2 Lacey Evans gets the better of an out-of-fuel Becky Lynch

Lacey Evans has been utterly impressive ever since her debut and the ardent WWE followers do feel that she is the next big thing of this company. Evans' potential has encouraged WWE creative to put her in a Raw Women's Championship match in her very PPV on the main roster.

Evans will be facing the reigning Raw Women's Champion, Becky Lynch, who happens to hold the SmackDown Women's Championship as well. By now the world knows that Becky Lynch will be defending both the titles at MITB; Lynch will be facing Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women's championship and Lacey Evans for the Raw Women's Championship.

Becky has been stupendous so far but competing in two singles matches on the same evening and that too against such quality performers does put Lynch in a demanding position. Evans' push might reach the top notch as she may well capitalise on a worn out Becky Lynch to claim gold and dethrone the Irish Lasskicker as the Raw Women's Champion.

#3 Ali wins the contract

Money in the Bank has been the stage where superstars commence their major push by getting their hands on the MITB contract which entitles them a title match any time, anywhere in the next year. The history suggests that the company favours the upcoming superstars in this one as they look to build a future around them. Look at CM Punk, Seth Rollins, Sheamus and the list goes on which truly tells the significance of Money in the Bank.

This year's match features many prominent names in the mix starting from Randy Orton to the recently recruited superstar from NXT - Ricochet. Drew Mcintyre is an obvious favourite to win the briefcase simply because the company has been trying to make him the next big thing and a win at MITB will surely prove to be enough in portraying the Scottish psychopath as the man.

But things don't always go as expected in the company and that is what makes us tune in every week. In all these men, there is one certain superstar who may have missed out on a push earlier this year which then led to one of the greatest WrestleMania stories in the form of Kofi-Mania.

Yes, we are talking about Ali and this week's episode saw a pretty impressive performance from Ali as he scored the pin over Andrade in his tag team match alongside Finn Balor against Andrade and Randy Orton. Ali may just be the darkhorse in the ladder match this Sunday.

#2 AJ Styles turns heel, not Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins vs AJ Styles is undoubtedly the biggest match heading onto MITB. The two gifted superstars will be vying for the prestigious Universal Championship and it's no secret that the build-up to this clash has been nothing short of pulsating.

Seth Rollins has been on a high ever since he took down the beast at WrestleMania 35 and there have been speculations over Rollins turning heel sometime soon due to his new found love for low-blows.

Money in the Bank is a special PPV courtesy of its eventful past and the number of mind-boggling moments this PPV has generated is just astonishing. We might be in for yet another surprise as Seth and AJ gear up for their clash for the Universal Championship.

While the recent events may point towards Rollins turning heel, we may very well witness a character change in his opponent simply because... it's been long time coming! AJ has had a face run for long and a superstar of his potential deserves some variety and we may well see AJ surprise the WWE Universe by turning heel this sunday.

The Goddess recently returned to in-ring action and it won't surprise many if Bliss walks out of Money in the Bank PPV with the briefcase. The former Women's Champion has had a stellar career in WWE and manages to capture the attention of billions of WWE enthusiasts every time she enters the frame.

Bliss did hit a rough patch ever since she lost out the Raw Women's Championship to Ronda Rousey at SummerSlam 2018 and a MITB victory will surely help Bliss' resurgence to the top. Alexa recently hosted the 35th edition of WrestleMania and her 'Moment with Bliss' talk show has been pretty impressive. The Goddess is a 5-time Women's Champion and the winner of last year's MITB ladder match.

Bliss successfully cashed in her contract on the very same night as she left the PPV as the new Raw Women's Champion. Similar scenes might be in store for Money In The Bank, 2019.
