We're back with the latest WWE News Roundup. Roman Reigns took part in a pre-taped match against a current champion not too long ago.

After the October 15th SmackDown episode, Seth Rollins spoke about his upcoming Hell in a Cell match and took a shot at two former WWE Superstars. Meanwhile, Becky Lynch has reacted to Edge mentioning her on live television.

Jinder Mahal recently made a bold claim about Drew McIntyre. Today's roundup also features Paul Heyman highlighting his admiration for an on-screen personality's work.

With that in mind, let's take a closer look at these recent stories:

#5 Spoiler for Roman Reigns' match at WWE Tribute to the Troops

This year's Tribute to the Troops special will air on November 14 on FOX, and WWE taped matches for it after the latest SmackDown episode. Universal Champion Roman Reigns fought Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura in the main event.

Nakamura's ally, Rick Boogs, started playing guitar at one point during the bout. This led to Jimmy and Jey Uso coming out and attacking Boogs in the ringside area.

As a result, Nakamura exited the squared circle to help his ally, and the Universal Champion followed him to deliver a Superman Punch. The match soon concluded when Reigns speared his opponent to earn a pinfall victory.

#4 Seth Rollins takes a shot at Bray Wyatt and Jon Moxley

At this year's WWE Crown Jewel pay-per-view on October 21, Seth Rollins will face Edge inside the Hell in a Cell structure.

The former Shield member has previously fought Jon Moxley (fka Dean Ambrose), Kevin Owens, and 'The Fiend' Bray Wyatt in the said stipulation match. Although he emerged victoriously against Moxley in 2014, his clash against Wyatt ended via match stoppage two years ago.

On yesterday's Talking Smack, Rollins took a shot at the two former WWE Superstars - in character - without directly mentioning them by name:

"I've actually spent more time inside the cell than Edge has. And I'm capable of being more dangerous inside the cell than he is. And if you don't believe me, you can just ask the guys that I've been in the cell with. Oh, that's right... two out of three of them aren't here anymore [laughs maniacally]," said Rollins about Bray Wyatt and Jon Moxley.

#3 Becky Lynch tweets a throwback picture after Edge's recent promo

On the latest episode of WWE SmackDown, Edge spoke about his feud with Seth Rollins.

The former Shield member invaded the Hall of Famer's home as part of their storyline not too long ago. Edge referenced this moment during his recent promo and teased to confront Rollins' spouse, Becky Lynch, at their place of residence.

Lynch took to Twitter to react to his words with a picture from their popular segment that took place three years ago:

For those unaware, on the October 16, 2018, episode of SmackDown, Edge had an on-screen disagreement with Becky Lynch, which led to the latter telling The Rated-R Superstar to get out of her ring.

You can watch that segment HERE.

#2 Jinder Mahal takes credit for Drew McIntyre's WWE Championship success

Jinder Mahal won the WWE Championship before his former 3MB teammate, Drew McIntyre, in 2017. McIntyre would go on to win the same title twice last year.

Mahal recently expressed to Fightful - in character - that he laid out the blueprint for The Scottish Warrior's journey to becoming a top superstar:

"I came to WWE before Drew. Came back. Became WWE Champion before Drew. Main evented all over the world before Drew. Did all this media before Drew." Mahal added, "If there was no Modern Day Maharaja as WWE Champion, there would be no Drew McIntyre. I showed him the way. I showed him it was possible. I gave him the belief in himself."

Jinder Mahal and Drew McIntyre's last televised singles match took place at SummerSlam 2021, as the latter emerged victoriously from that encounter.

#1 Paul Heyman is a huge fan of WWE SmackDown commentator Pat McAfee

In a recent conversation with Sportskeeda Wrestling's Rick Ucchino, Paul Heyman explained why Pat McAfee's mic skills in WWE have "impressed the hell" out of him.

The Tribal Chief's special counsel acknowledged that McAfee understands the importance of crowd interaction, highlighting the latter's commitment to entertaining fans in attendance during commercial breaks.

Heyman noted that he has become a "huge admirer" of the commentator's contributions to WWE thus far.

"Pat McAfee actually has impressed the hell out of me." Heyman continued, "Pat McAfee, during the breaks, will stand up on the announce table and entertain the live audience, and Pat McAfee understands the interaction between the person holding the microphone and those in the audience watching the person holding the microphone. I've become a huge admirer of his contributions to the WWE."
