WrestleMania 35: Match Card Predictions

The final PPV on the Road To WrestleMania is done and dusted and the greatest event of the year for the fans of pro wrestling is just a few weeks away. WrestleMania 35 will take place on 7 April 2019 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Speaking about Fastlane, it was an explosive PPV which had many twists and turns that no one expected. The result of some of the matches will definitely affect the WrestleMania 35 Card. Some huge WrestleMania matches were also announced on Raw today.

The current booking somewhat rejuvenates the hope of the fans as WWE has been trying to create a fresher and a better product and many fans hope that WWE will create a spectacular event this time.

WWE also has been trying its level best to hype up the matches and I must say that they have been doing a pretty good job. WWE has a spectacular opportunity to make history this year but will they be able to do it? Well, only time can tell.

For now, let's dive into the match card predictions.

Note- Kurt Angle's retirement match has not been predicted as he has no ongoing storyline right now.

#1 Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal

Will it be any different from the past years?

This battle royal is generally filled with Superstars who don't have a proper creative direction and WWE uses this battle royal just as a filler but if WWE starts using this battle royal efficiently, it could certainly help them boost a Superstar's career.

With numerous NXT call-ups on the main roster, WWE could use this battle royal to bring any one of them in the main event picture and the best choice for that is EC3.

EC3 is an extremely skilled Superstar and he could create some thrilling rivalries and matches on the main roster if he is given a chance. This is the perfect opportunity for him to make his mark and show the WWE Universe his astonishing capabilities.

Prediction: EC3 wins the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal

#2 WrestleMania Women's Battle Royal

Most of the current female wrestlers are not involved in meaningful storylines. Ronda Rousey, Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair are the most heavily featured female Superstars on the show right now.

It would not be justified if WWE decides to not showcase more than half of the women's roster on the 'Grandest Stage Of Them All'. The best way of featuring them is by having a women's battle royal. WWE could use this opportunity to push an NXT call up or someone who has not been properly utilized on the main roster.

Sonya Deville is the most deserving winner in my opinion. She has great in-ring skills and is also pretty decent on the mic. WWE could use this battle royal to push Sonya Deville into the main event picture and possibly a singles' run in the future as the SmackDown's Women Champion.

Prediction: Sonya Deville wins the Women's Battle Royal

#3 Buddy Murphy vs Tony Nese (Cruiserweight Championship)

Buddy Murphy as a champion has done extraordinary work to make the Cruiserweight Title relevant again. He has been a part of some spectacular matches and rivalries during his time as the Champion.

There is an eight-man tournament going on to decide that who will challenge Murphy for the prestigious Cruiserweight Championship at the 'Grandest Stage Of Them All'. I think that Tony Nese will win this tournament and challenge Murphy for the title but I don't think that he will win the title.

The match will definitely be a show stealer but there is one fact that saddens me and that is that this match will most probably happen on the kickoff show. I really wonder sometimes why WWE has not been giving the spotlight to the Cruiserweight Superstars which they rightfully deserve.

Prediction: Buddy Murphy retains the title

#4 AJ Styles vs Randy Orton

AJ Styles vs Randy Orton- A Guaranteed Classic.

A match between the two has been rumored for months now and WWE gave us a little hint about this match on last week's SmackDown when Orton interrupted Styles during a backstage interview.

The possibility of this match happening was further cemented when AJ Styles hit Randy Orton with a Phenomenal Forearm at Fastlane. I think that we could see some interesting segments involving the two Superstars in the following weeks which will set up a huge match at WrestleMania.

No one is a better opponent for Styles than the Apex Predator. These two men can create a rivalry for ages, that the fans will definitely cherish for a long time.

I think that Styles will pick up the win at WrestleMania.

Predictions: AJ Styles defeats Randy Orton

#5 Shane McMahon vs The Miz

This match has been rumored for quite some time now and now it is almost certain. Shane McMahon turned heel by attacking The Miz after their match with The Usos at Fastlane. Shane brutalized The Miz in front of his father and his home crowd.

The Miz will be in sheer anger that Shane turned his back on him in his hometown and we could see some possible brawls between the two in the following weeks which will set them up for a huge match at WrestleMania.

I think that this was the perfect moment to turn Shane heel and convert The Miz to a full-fledged babyface as the alliance of Shane McMahon and The Miz was not working out as well as WWE wanted it to.

As for who will win the match at Mania, I think that The Miz will win the match and move onto different storylines.

Prediction: The Miz defeats Shane McMahon

#6 Triple H vs Batista (No Holds Barred)

Batista has definitely gotten Triple H's attention now.

A dream match that fans have been craving for years will finally happen at WrestleMania 35. The seeds of this match were sown on an episode of Monday Night Raw when Batista viciously attacked Ric Flair.

Over the past years, Batista has been pretty vocal about his wish to face Triple H at WrestleMania and I am quite happy that we will get to see this match. The match will be a no holds barred match which means that this match will definitely witness some jaw-dropping moments.

Avengers Endgame is also scheduled to release at the end of April so there is no better way to cross-promote than by featuring Batista in a match against Triple H at WrestleMania.

Batista will most probably pick up the win here and this rivalry will probably continue even after WrestleMania till the point when Triple H pins Batista.

Prediction: Batista defeats Triple H

#7 The Usos vs The Hardy Boyz vs Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn (SmackDown Tag Team Championships)

I think that a multi-person tag team match for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships will be an ideal one. There is so much talent on the current SmackDown Tag Team roster and I don't want to see most of them be a part of a meaningless battle royal.

The Usos retained their tag titles at Fastlane and will most probably head into WrestleMania as the Tag Champs. With Shane McMahon and The Miz out of the equation, the question arises who will face The Usos at WrestleMania?

The Hardy Boyz recently made their return as a tag team and will definitely be involved in a big money match at the 'Show of Shows' and there are no better opponents for them than the Usos.

Kevin Owens lost the triple threat match at Fastlane and he would need a match at WrestleMania. Also, there are rumors that Sami Zayn will return soon, so this is the perfect opportunity to unite them.

I think that the team of Owens and Zayn could do wonders for the tag team division of SmackDown and WWE will make them the SmackDown Tag Team Champions.

Prediction: Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens become the new Tag Champs

#8 Ronda Rousey vs Becky Lynch vs Charlotte Flair (Raw Women's Championship)

First Ever Women's Main Event at WrestleMania!

It is confirmed!

The main event of WrestleMania will be Ronda Rousey vs Charlotte Flair vs Becky Lynch for the Raw Women's Championship.

Becky was added to the match after she won her match against Charlotte by DQ at Fastlane. Ronda Rousey attacked Becky and made sure that she was in the match.

This match is guaranteed to be a blockbuster. All the women involved will definitely give their level best and try to make the first ever Women's WrestleMania main event a spectacular success.

Most of us can predict the result of this match and that is that Becky Lynch will become the Raw Women's Champion and she might also become the first person to make Ronda submit or the first one to pin her.

Prediction: Becky Lynch becomes the Raw Women's Champion

#9 The Revival vs Heavy Machinery vs Ricochet and Aleister Black (Raw Tag Team Championship)

Will they be able to dethrone The Revival?

The Revival successfully retained their titles against the team of Ricochet and Black as well as the team of Roode and Gable at Fastlane.

The Revival won the match by pinning Gable and this was a very smart decision made by WWE. By letting the Revival pin Gable, they have kept the doors open for Ricochet and Black to face the Revival at Wrestlemania.

Also, I think that Heavy Machinery will also be a part of this match considering their strong booking.

My prediction is that the team of Ricochet and Black will capture the Tag Titles at 'The Grandest Stage Of Them All'.

Prediction: Aleister Black and Ricochet win the Raw Tag Team Championships

#10 Daniel Bryan vs Kofi Kingston (WWE Championship)

The WWE Championship match at Fastlane was nothing short of amazing. But every member of the WWE Universe was saddened by the fact that Kofi was not a part of the triple threat match at Fastlane.

Daniel Bryan successfully defended his championship by pinning Mustafa Ali in a match also involving Kevin Owens. He will likely head into WrestleMania as the WWE Champion.

There is no way that WWE will not create a match between Bryan and Kingston considering the immense support that Kingston is getting from the WWE Universe. They will most probably set up a match between the two Superstars at the 'Show of Shows' and who knows Kofi might even win the title.

Kofi Kingston's organic rise to the top has been nothing short of amazing and he is currently riding high on momentum. WWE might decide to capitalize on his momentum by making him the WWE Champion at WrestleMania.

It will open the door to some new and exciting rivalries for Kofi and, a match between the New Day members might happen sometime in the future for the WWE Championship.

My prediction is that Daniel Bryan will lose the WWE Championship at WrestleMania. The fans would love to see him get dethroned by Kofi Kingston at the 'Grandest Stage Of Them All'.

#11 Asuka vs Lacey Evans (SmackDown Women's Championship)

Asuka successfully defended her championship against Mandy Rose at Fastlane. This is probably the end of the rivalry between Mandy Rose and Asuka and start of a rivalry between Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville

Now the question is who will challenge Asuka for the SmackDown Women's Championship at WrestleMania. According to me, she will face Lacey Evans in a huge match.

With Charlotte and Becky in the Raw Women's Championship match, there is no serious competition left for the 'Empress of Tomorrow' on the SmackDown roster and the latest NXT call-up could serve as a viable opponent for Asuka.

Lacey Evans has been making short appearances on both Raw and SmackDown Live. She will most probably confront Asuka on this week's SmackDown Live and challenge her for the championship.

My prediction is that Asuka will retain the title at WrestleMania but she will drop it to Lacey Evans at a future PPV.

Prediction: Asuka retains the SmackDown Women's Championship

#12 Samoa Joe vs Andrade vs Rey Mysterio (U.S. Championship)

Samoa Joe captured the US Title on last week's SmackDown Live by winning a fatal four-way match involving Rey Mysterio, Andrade and R-Truth and he successfully defended it at Fastlane too.

The Championship victory was long due for the 'Samoan Submission Machine'. He was somewhat lost in the shuffle and now has gotten the spotlight which he rightfully deserves.

With Joe as the Champion, many names have been speculated as for who will be his WrestleMania opponent. According to me, he will defend his title in a triple threat match against Mysterio and Andrade.

The match will be a sure shot blockbuster, as the men involved are immensely talented and could create a clinic. My prediction is that Joe will retain the title and continue his reign as Champion at least till SummerSlam.

Prediction: Samoa Joe retains the U.S. Title

#13 Bobby Lashley vs John Cena vs Finn Balor (Intercontinental Championship)

Finn Balor lost the Intercontinental Championship to Bobby Lashley on Raw and with Lashley as the Intercontinental Champion, it is really difficult to predict who is going to face him as there are a number of worthy challengers for the IC Title.

But I think that Lashley will face 2 opponents at WrestleMania and those two will be John Cena and Finn Balor. Even though automatic rematches are no more in practice, I still think that Balor will be a part of the Intercontinental Championship match as he is one of the finest Superstars on the roster now and he needs a big match at Wrestlemania.

As for Cena, his current WrestleMania status is unknown but there are reports that state that he will be a part of WrestleMania. Also, Cena is only available for a few weeks, therefore WWE needs to create a believable storyline for him.

Cena only needs the IC title to become a Grand Slam champion and they can use this angle to insert Cena into the match.

But I don't think that Cena will capture the title as he is currently focusing on his Hollywood career. The winner will most probably be Finn Balor as a win over Cena and Lashley at the 'Grandest Stage Of Them All' will certainly boost Balor's career.

Prediction: Balor wins the Intercontinental Championship

#14 Brock Lesnar vs Seth Rollins (Universal Championship)

Seth Rollins earned the opportunity of facing Brock Lesnar by winning this year's Royal Rumble. This rivalry has money written all over it, the fans are firmly behind Rollins and they want him to slay The Beast at the Grandest Stage of Them All.

This will definitely be an amazing match if Brock is willing to compete in a long and grueling match just like he did with the likes of AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan.

Seth Rollins will most probably win the Universal Title and the WWE Universe will finally get a full-time champion. After the match, we might see Dean and Roman come out to congratulate their brother and we might see the Shield for the last time in WWE.

Prediction: Seth Rollins defeats Brock Lesnar and becomes the Universal Champion

#15 Sasha Banks and Bayley vs Lita and Trish Stratus (Raw Women's Championship)

Sasha Banks and Bayley became the inaugural Women Tag Team Champions by defeating five other teams in an Elimination Chamber match.

They successfully defeated Nia Jax and Tamina and retained their Tag Team Championships at Fastlane and they will most probably head into WrestleMania as the tag champs.

So now the question is who will challenge the Boss N' Hug Connection at the 'Grandest Stage Of Them All'. Currently, there are no teams who have the momentum and credibility to challenge them for the titles at WrestleMania.

So why not create a dream match between the Boss N' Hug Connection and a team of two of the legendary women's wrestling icons, Lita and Trish Stratus. Also, according to some rumors, that is the plan that is being finalized by WWE.

Sasha and Bayley will retain the titles as Trish and Lita are not winning the Tag Titles at any cost. They will most probably return only for a single match.
