These eight superstars will compete at the Money in the Bank ladder match

Money in the Bank 2019 will take place this Sunday on May 16, 2019. In the men's Money in the Bank Ladder match, there will be eight participants. Four participants came from Monday Night Raw and four participants came from SmackDown Live.

The four participants announced from Raw were Braun Strowman, Baron Corbin, Ricochet, and Drew McIntyre. Sami Zayn would eventually defeat Braun Strowman in a Falls Count Anywhere match with help from Baron Corbin and Drew McIntyre to take his spot, while Ricochet defeated Robert Roode in a singles match to keep his spot in the match.

The four participants announced from SmackDown Live were Intercontinental Champion Finn Balor, Ali, Andrade, and Randy Orton. All eight of these men have a good chance of winning this match as they are eight of the most elite superstars in the ring.

High flyers like Ricochet, Ali, and Finn Balor, powerhouses like Baron Corbin and Drew McIntyre, as well as opportunists like Sami Zayn, Randy Orton, and Andrade help to make up a great match that could really steal the show. All these men would be great as Mr. Money in the Bank because they are all hugely talented.

#8: Ricochet

Ricochet can possibly be a future star in WWE
Ricochet can possibly be a future star in WWE

Ricochet has been on an upward trend since being signed by WWE. He has experienced quite a bit of success since joining the main roster, as he was the standout performer in the SmackDown Tag Team Title match at WrestleMania (with his amazing tilt-a-whirl head-scissors, and his amazing flip out of the tower of doom spot specifically standing out) and has pinned superstars like Jinder Mahal, Baron Corbin, Lio Rush, Robert Roode, and Eric Young.

While he is definitely a future champion, his time is not now, as he has only just made his debut. The main purpose for him being in this match is likely for him to hit insane spots and sell some of the other superstars like Baron Corbin, Drew McIntyre, and Andrade.

#7: Ali

At this time last year, Ali was a part of 205 Live
At this time last year, Ali was a part of 205 Live

Ali will be competing in the biggest match of his career this Sunday. He is definitely a future star on SmackDown Live. He had a great year on 205 Live as he had several standout matches against superstars like Cedric Alexander, Drew Gulak, Neville (now known as PAC), Hideo Itami (now known as Kenta), and Buddy Murphy.

When he joined SmackDown Live, he instantly turned heads by having a great match with Daniel Bryan. He has since then gained pinfall victories over wrestlers like Andrade and Daniel Bryan, as well as had great matches with superstars like Randy Orton, Samoa Joe, and Finn Balor.

While he has a lot of potential as a future superstar, he has only been a part of SmackDown Live for a short amount of time, as this time year he was still on 205 Live. He is likely in this match to provide a lot of highlights and only has a higher chance then Ricochet because he has been on the roster a little bit longer than him.

#6: Finn Balor

Finn Balor has been having his first matches on SmackDown Live
Finn Balor has been having his first matches on SmackDown Live

Finn Balor would be a great choice as Mr. Money in the Bank. He is an extremely talented and charismatic superstar that just needs a small push to become a permanent fixture on the main event scene.

However, he does not have a great chance of winning this ladder match because he is the Intercontinental Champion. It is very unlikely that someone holds both a championship and the Money in the Bank briefcase.

This has not been done since The Miz won the Money in the Bank ladder match back in 2010 while also being United States Champion. Finn Balor will likely reign as Intercontinental Champion for a while, and given the fact that his reign has only just begun, it is unlikely that he will be Mr. Money in the Bank. His main purpose in this match is likely to add star power.

#5: Baron Corbin

Baron Corbin held the Money in the Bank briefcase back in 2017
Baron Corbin held the Money in the Bank briefcase back in 2017

Baron Corbin arguably gets more heel heat than any other superstar on the main roster. Therefore, he is greatly valued by WWE as he has been given a lot of air time over the past few months.

He was recently given the biggest win of his career against Kurt Angle in his retirement match at WrestleMania 35 and has been getting pinfall victories over superstars like The Miz, Ricochet, and Seth Rollins.

Baron Corbin does great in getting heat from the WWE Universe. Therefore, WWE might want to troll the WWE Universe once again by having Baron Corbin get the victory.

He has more of a chance than all the faces in this match. However, he does not have the greatest chance, as it is far more likely that he uses his victory over Seth Rollins on Raw to get a Universal Title opportunity in the future.

#4: Randy Orton

Randy Orton has been in WWE longer than all of these superstars.
Randy Orton has been in WWE longer than all of these superstars.

To be clear, Randy Orton does not need to win the Money in the Bank briefcase at all and arguably should not. He has had numerous title reigns in WWE, including thirteen world title reigns, two Royal Rumble victories, a Money in the Bank ladder match, a United States Championship victory, an Intercontinental Title reign, and two tag team title reigns.

Given the fact that he has accomplished so much, it would not make much sense for him to win this match. However, WWE might have him win the briefcase due to his history with Kofi Kingston.

Randy Orton held back Kofi Kingston's singles career several years ago, so imagine the heat he would get by cashing in on Kofi Kingston to win the World Championship. Therefore, he has a strong chance of winning this match.

#3: Sami Zayn

Sami Zayn only recently made his return to WWE
Sami Zayn only recently made his return to WWE

On this day last week, Sami Zayn was not even in this match. However, Sami Zayn shockingly defeated Braun Strowman on Monday Night Raw with the help of Baron Corbin and Drew McIntyre to take his spot in the Money in the Bank ladder match.

Now that Sami Zayn is in this ladder match, there is a strong possibility that he wins this match. His heel character has been a revelation over the past few weeks, as his promos against the fans have been one of the best parts of Monday Night Raw (which has clearly been dwindling in quality).

Imagine his promos against the fans if he wins the Money in the Bank briefcase. Sami Zayn clearly deserves to eventually become the world champion, and it would be great for him to cash in on Seth Rollins, Kofi Kingston, or even Kevin Owens.

#2: Andrade

Andrade and Zelina Vega are arguably the best superstar/manager combo in WWE
Andrade and Zelina Vega are arguably the best superstar/manager combo in WWE

Andrade has been touted by many as a future star. That is why he should definitely win this matchup. This year has really been a breakout year for Andrade due to his matches with superstars like Rey Mysterio and Finn Balor.

He is really close to breaking out into the main event picture and just needs a small push to finally become a fixture on the main event scene. His opportunistic character would be perfect as Mr. Money in the Bank.

The only thing holding him back is that he won the fatal four way on SmackDown Live. The person who stands tall before the pay per view normally ends up losing (classic 50/50 booking).

He is also likely to feud with Finn Balor over the Intercontinental Championship after the pinfall he got over him. He would be a great choice to win this match, as Zelina Vega's interference could be what gets him the victory.

#1: Drew McIntyre

Drew McIntyre is extremely close to becoming Monday Night Raw's top superstar
Drew McIntyre is extremely close to becoming Monday Night Raw's top superstar

Drew McIntyre has been a breakout superstar since making his main roster debut last year. He has defeated almost everyone that has gotten in his path, including Dolph Ziggler, Dean Ambrose, and even the current Universal Champion, Seth Rollins.

He is definitely a future world champion and a win at Money in the Bank just might be the best way to catapult him to the main event scene. He is clearly valued by WWE due to his multiple victories over Seth Rollins and his feud with the top star of the company, Roman Reigns.

Drew McIntyre has done so much to prove that he deserves this spot since he originally departed from the company in 2014, and has the strongest chance of winning the match. He is the overwhelming favorite to win this match due to the strong booking he has received.
