The question of who attacked Roman Reigns has been the focal point of WWE's programming since before SummerSlam 2019. The topic was not brought up at SummerSlam, even though Rowan, the primary suspect, beat up Buddy Murphy who'd named him as the man behind the attacks.

This week on SmackDown Live, Rowan beat a confession out of Buddy Murphy in the locker room. The show ended with Roman Reigns being confronted by Daniel Bryan and Rowan, and with them promising to unveil the man behind the attacks on next week's show.

Who could the perpetrator be? In this article, we will name 5 people who could be brought to justice by Bryan and Rowan.

Of course, it could always be them, as they step out and attack Roman Reigns, claiming that it was them all along.

#5 Luke Harper

Luke Harper is someone who requested a release from WWE not long ago. It turns out that he is still very much employed by the company, to this day. Maybe things have changed in the back with Bray Wyatt's character gaining steam and popularity and Luke Harper has decided to stay on, for the long haul.

There's also Heyman and Bischoff at the helm of things, which means that there are different creative minds working on the product, which may just induce someone like Luke Harper to stay on for yet another spell. Maybe he is brought back into the mix and revealed to be the man that attacked Roman Reigns by Rowan and Daniel Bryan.

The two men were part of the Wyatt Family and so there is an existing backstory that can be used to further this feud. Harper is also great in the ring and can have great matches against Reigns.

#4 Cesaro

Cesaro has always been one of those gentlemen who should have been a standout star long ago. Unfortunately, for reasons unknown, he's always fallen short of where he should have ideally been. As Buddy Murphy proved recently, a match with Reigns is sometimes all it takes to become the next big breakout star.

Cesaro is someone who matches up physically to Reigns and that is certainly no mean feat at all. Reigns is a physical marvel and so is Cesaro so a match between them could certainly be intriguing. It would lead to Cesaro ascending the ranks and having a chance to become the top heel on SmackDown.

In fact, if Cesaro were indeed revealed to be the culprit, he could work matches with Daniel Bryan as well, which would be compelling. These are two of the best wrestlers on the planet and a clash between them could yield massive dividends.

#3 Drew McIntyre

I know that you are all groaning at the thought of Drew McIntyre facing Reigns again. But McIntyre is someone who needs all the attention that he can get, and this is a great storyline to have him shine.

I am often asked why someone like Drew McIntyre has not been the Universal Champion yet and often times, I have no answer to the question. I can only assume that being a sidekick for Shane McMahon is something that devalued him to a fair extent and took away the appeal of the Scottish Psychopath character.

This could also be a great device for McIntyre to turn face when it turns out that Bryan had been lying all along. So, a program between Reigns and McIntyre could lead to a whole storyline where the two men team up.

I genuinely do not see any negatives if McIntyre is named as the culprit.

#2 Shinsuke Nakamura

The Intercontinental Championship is supposed to be a big deal but does not seem like it because of the way it is being booked right now. Not only was the title not featured on the SummerSlam card at all, but it did not feature on the SmackDown that followed either, quite surprisingly. One possibility is that WWE just doesn't know what to do with Shinsuke Nakamura.

But yet another possibility is that Roman Reigns is being inserted into the Intercontinental Championship picture to elevate the same, with his presence. Reigns is no slouch in the ring and can definitely go head-to-head with Nakamura. These two men could certainly make the title prestigious once again.

Nakamura doesn't even have to be the culprit that actually did it. It could well be Daniel Bryan, pushing the blame on Nakamura, who could enter the fray once again, maybe in time for Survivor Series.

#1 Andrade

Andrade has been on a tear recently, not only putting on great matches with the likes of Rey Mysterio but also winning the said matches. He defeated Mysterio in no time on RAW, which probably signals the end of the feud for now.

I think that he's due for a massive push going forward, and what better way to have someone soar to the top than with a program against Roman Reigns? Andrade is not someone who refrains from taking the low road, thanks to his devious manager Zelina Vega, and this could lead to some rather interesting moments.

Andrade vs. Reigns is a program that does not seem out of place, considering how far the gifted superstar has risen the ranks. There's just been that spark missing from Andrade's career recently as he's been in a prominent position, but has also been unable to escape the upper mid-card.

Reigns could change that!
