IPL 6: RCB vs CSK: Hits of the Day

Zaheer Khan

The rain may have reduced the game to just 8 overs a side, but the fireworks display that came out of the Chinnaswamy stadium were a sight to behold. The patient crowd sure got its money’s worth as Bangalore cleaned house.

Virat Kohli

The RCB captain came out with just a single aim – ensure Bangalore won and won big. He went all guns blazing, carting the Chennai bowlers out of the park. Knowing very well that his team needed a big score for an 8-over innings and with Chris Gayle seemingly biding his time, Kohli launched into the Chennai bowling, not sparing any bowler. Ashwin, who was turning the ball a mile, found himself staring into the night sky as Kohli treated him with disdain. Staying until the end, he ensured that Bangalore reached 106 while also reaching his 50.

Chris Gayle

The Jamaican was in his usual lackadaisical mood. He let Kohli take charge, preferring to watch the young hothead go berserk. However, when Jason Holder decided to try and rush him, he sent the young upstart’s final three deliveries into the hands of his adoring fans. He then topped it off by claiming the catch of Murali Vijay.

Zaheer Khan

The wily old fox was back at his best as he sent Hussey and Raina back to the dugout off consecutive deliveries, putting the brakes on the Chennai run chase. He then came back to bowl the final over and dismissed a rampaging Dhoni. To put the cherry on the cake, so to speak, he pulled off a brilliant catch to remove Jadeja off the last ball of the match.
