The Milan derby lived up to expectations

There were quite a few blockbuster matches lined up for this weekend right after the international break and they didn’t fail to disappoint. With Arsenal clinching a last-minute draw against Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's first half winner helping Dortmund beat Bayern Munich, there was excitement all around.

The two derbies were, however, the main talking points, with the Milan derby ending in a stalemate and the Madrid derby turning into a Cristiano Ronaldo spectacle.

Serie A

The main talking point would be Suso's brace for AC Milan being cancelled out by Ivan Perisic's equaliser. Suso scored his first two goals in the hallowed grounds of San Siro, but his double was cancelled out by goals in the second half from Candreva and Perisic.

Juventus, meanwhile, comfortably beat Pescara by 3 goals to nothing, and stretched their lead at the top to 7 points as Roma fell to a surprising 2-1 defeat at the hands of Atlanta. Lorenzo Insigne, on the other hand, scored a brace against Udinese to keep Napoli's title hopes alive.

However, the whole world was more concerned with RB Leipzig’s dramatic run so far. They continued their incredible form after another thrilling 3-2 victory against Bayer Leverkusen. They are now riding on 8 wins and 3 draws with zero losses. For many, they seem to be pulling off a German version of Leceister City. It is also interesting to note that there are five teams, from 3rd to 7th, sitting on exactly 21 points.

A late Olivier Giroud header maintained Arsenal’s unbeaten streak

Oliver Giroud’s 89th-minute equaliser added to Jose Mourinho’s misery. Yaya Toure, meanwhile, scored a crucial double at Selhurst Park as City just made it past Crystal Palace.

Harry Winks made his full Premier League debut for Tottenham and tapped in an easy rebound to get Spurs level in what turned out to be a thriller. He then ran all the way to the touchline to hug the man who put so much trust in him, Pochettino, who will have no qualms after his side went on to claim a 3-2 win over West Ham.

Chelsea, meanwhile, are on a run of six clean sheets, after a scrappy Diego Costa goal just before the end of the first half proved enough to secure a win for the South West London outfit.
