Dragon Ball Super, much like the original Dragon Ball and Z, isn't a stranger to fights.

From godly levels of ki to reality-breaking fists to a whole fusion battle, Super has proven that its fights can stand up to the likes of Goku vs. Frieza or Cell vs. Gohan. These fights tend to be on a whole other level than Z, sometimes taking multiple episodes to end and sometimes ending in minutes if not seconds.

These are the 10 most interesting fights in Dragon Ball Super thus far.

Note: Spoilers for both the manga and anime of Dragon Ball Super. This is only the author's opinion.

10 interesting fights in Dragon Ball Super

1) Beerus vs. Goku

Beerus is the first God of Destruction the audience is introduced to in Dragon Ball Super and is not to be underestimated. Unfortunately, Goku ended up doing that in their first meeting and got trounced at SS3.

Their next meeting required the Super Saiyan God transformation. Goku and Beerus' battle was unable to be followed even by Vegeta's enhanced senses. Their collision shook the universe while planet-killing attacks were deflected and fired.

It was the first real fight between the Gods that set the tone for the rest of Super.

2) Kefla vs. Goku

Another Goku fight from Dragon Ball Super's Tournament of Power, and the first fusion fight! Caulifla and Kale's fusion was a last-ditch effort from Universe 6's fighters to continue fighting and try eliminating Goku and Universe 7. It didn't work, but it forced Goku into Ultra Instinct mode and tired him out.

It was great seeing not only the ensemble darkhorses Caulifla and Kale get to fuse and have a huge moment aside from Kale's Legendary Super Saiyan moment. Just the fact that we had a two-on-one Super Saiyan fight was good too, showing good teamwork and forcing Goku to use all of his Super Saiyan forms.

The fact that Goku had to go Ultra Instinct to eliminate them proves how much of a challenge they were. It's best seen as a friendly spar and battle of wills.

3) Ultra Ego Vegeta vs Granolah

Whilst Vegeta has come in handy for a long time in Dragon Ball, usually giving energy where needed or otherwise distracting the main villain, Ultra Ego mode was where he cut loose. After Goku was knocked down by Granolah, Vegeta stepped in and stepped up in a major way.

Ultra Ego mode debuting for Vegeta is the time where Vegeta finally, according to Goku, surpassed Goku. He beats Granolah pillar to post, only losing because he took too much damage and Granolah had already made his wish to become the strongest warrior in Universe 7. Vegeta debuted a new mode and a new power, Granolah got to show off how strategical he was, and it’s satisfying to see Vegeta take a villain to their limits.

4) Granolah vs. Gas

Not to be outdone, here's Dragon Ball Super's relative newcomers duking it out. Granolah vs. Gas is a longstanding revenge story that the audience has only been privy to very recently. It's the strongest vs. the strongest with a tragic backstory entwined in it.

It's also very interesting for the techniques that get used, from Granolah's shadow clone ability to Gas' bulked-up form. It also ends with a rather gruesome shattering of Granolah's arms before Goku steps up.

5) Golden Frieza vs. Goku and Vegeta

The rematch of the series fans waited for happened in Dragon Ball Super's Resurrection F arc. Frieza returned in a brand new, ultra-powerful golden form (dubbed Golden Frieza) and tried to kill Goku and Vegeta for his humiliating defeat at Namek.

It's an interesting battle because it's a rematch of the iconic Goku vs. Frieza fight. It also sees Goku defeated (through cheating) and Vegeta stepping up to beat Frieza down. Vegeta does so and, were it not for Frieza blowing Earth up, would've killed him. It was cathartic to see Frieza get rocked after barely defeating Goku.

6) Moro vs. everyone

The battle against Moro makes it on this list for the sheer power and DC Comics' level of absurdity involved. From Moro being akin to the Superman villain Parasite, but on a planetary level, to Goku summoning a large spirit version of himself to kill Moro, it's a wild ride from start to finish.

Another interesting note is Vegeta. Vegeta getting spirit fission made him better because he was able to aid the Namekians that died as a result of Moro's inhumane acts. This is a level of improvement that he also uses against Moro, sapping his energy to give to Goku.

7) Broly vs. Vegeta, Goku, then Gogeta

This battle saw a better version of Broly from Dragon Ball Super. Everything about this fight is grand, from Vegeta getting an early edge, to Goku and Vegeta having to team up to pound on Broly even in Super Saiyan Blue. Toss in Frieza killing Paragus and then gets beat on by the enraged Saiyan as a bonus.

The other side to this is the fusion battle. Gogeta returns from Dragon Ball GT and almost destroyed Broly before he was teleported away by Cheelai's wish. The sheer impact of breaking reality, nearly destroying the Earth, and Broly being helped as opposed to destroyed easily puts this fight on the list.

8) Fused Zamasu vs. Vegito

Fusion vs. Fusion?! A fusion fight hasn't been seen since the latter half of the Buu saga in Z. It turns out to be one of the only methods to down the fused Zamasu, effortlessly blocking and deflecting much of what the corrupted god threw at them. They only had an hour and weren't wasting too much time with it, trying to finish Zamasu since his god form and mortal forms conflicted.

Sadly, this didn't last long as they defused before finishing him off right as the final punch headed his way. It was still good to see a whole fusion vs. another fusion and the new attacks.

9) Hit vs. Jiren

Another example of two relative newcomers, this time from established characters. The Time Skip assassin Hit, who gave Goku a world of hurt in the Zeno Expo, went up against the mysteriously quiet Pride Trooper Jiren. It felt like a clash of titans, as the time skipper Hit was at first able to keep up with Jiren, but then Jiren broke time with his power and beat Hit even after a near ring out.

Even though Hit gave it his all, Jiren still rang him out. It was still enough to land blows on the previously invincible Jiren and showcase his weaknesses.

10) Goku, Vegeta, & Trunks vs. Goku Black & Zamasu

youtube-cover

The first conflict between Zamasu and Goku Black is a very dark and interesting story. Evil Supreme Kai! A possessed Goku, who killed Chi Chi and Goten! It's all happening in Future Trunks' timeline, meaning the return of fan-favorite Future Trunks!

It saw Goku go berserk against Goku Black, the return of Vegito, and the eventual erasure of the universe by Zeno. Barring the ending, the fight itself is great to see an evil version of Goku and an evil Supreme Kai in action.
