With the MLB trade deadline on the horizon, there's plenty of buzz among fans regarding potential acquisitions that could drastically improve teams' chances.
Those in good positions to contend for postseason spots will look to supplement their squad with players from teams unlikely to make it to October.
Let's look at some teams that could end up offloading some significant talent in the upcoming trade deadline.

7 MLB teams that could hit the trade market hard as sellers
#7 Athletics
At the bottom of the AL West with a 25-40 record, there is a good chance that teams will add some of the Athletics' talent to their squad, particularly some of their pitchers.

The most sought-after target is Mason Miller. However, Jeffrey Springs and Tyler Ferguson have also reportedly generated plenty of interest from around the league.
#6 Miami Marlins
Sitting at the bottom of the NL East with a 23-37 record, outfielder Jesus Sanchez and reliever Anthony Bender may well be on their way out of the team. The Marlins may also trade starting pitcher Cal Quantrill, but they'll unlikely to receive plenty of offers, as his ERA is 5.63.
#5 Pittsburgh Pirates
Amid another disappointing season, the Pittsburgh Pirates have a few players that contenders could do nicely with, such as starting pitcher Andrew Heaney. He boasts a 3-4 record, along with a 3.39 ERA and 47 total strikeouts.
Outfielders Adam Frazier and Isiah Kiner-Falefa could also be on their way out of PNC Park.
#4 Washington Nationals
The Nationals (29-33) are enjoying a much better season than most of the teams on this list, and still have a good chance of sneaking into the postseason. However, the presence of contenders such as the New York Mets and the Philadelphia Phillies in their division make their chances complicated.

Kyle Finnegan is probably one of the most sought-after players on their roster, while a hitter like Josh Bell could also add plenty of power to any lineup.
#3 LA Angels
Currently at the spot above the Athletics, the Angels have shown signs of life, winning their last series at Fenway Park. However, they are still likely to enter the trade deadline as sellers. Taylor Ward, who has 17 home runs and 42 RBIs, is generating plenty of interest, along with closer Kenley Jansen and lefty Tyler Anderson.
#2 Baltimore Orioles
A shadow of the team that gave the New York Yankees a run for their money in the NL East last year, some Orioles veterans could be moved. According to various sources, Ryan O'Hearn, Cedric Mullins and Zach Eflin are all sought-after options.
#1 Atlanta Braves
The Braves are in a tough spot, seven games below .500 after blowing a seemingly-comfortable victory against the Diamondbacks on Thursday.

DH Marcell Ozuna would be a solid addition to any MLB team, and Atlanta is also reportedly open to listening to offers for reliever Raisel Iglesias
