Call of Duty is taking a big leap forward to stop VPN abuse in Warzone and Black Ops 6, starting from Season 1. CoD veterans know that several players use VPNs to get easy lobbies and boost their rank, and this has been happening for a while. Thus, players get unfairly higher rankings, which can be considered a kind of exploit. However, in Season 1's patch notes, Activision mentioned it would cut down VPN abuse in both Warzone and Black Ops 6.
Read on to learn more about what's Ricochet planning to do regarding the VPN abuse in both CoD games.
Warzone and Black Ops 6 players won't be able to abuse VPN like before
Starting with the Season 1 update, Activision is adjusting ping thresholds in Warzone and Black Ops 6. Due to this, players will be required to play matches in their region or receive much higher ping if they use VPNs to get easier lobbies. It's well known that the game becomes pretty difficult with higher ping. Hence, this latest feature will force players to play in their own regions.
While this might not stop VPN abuse completely in Warzone and Black Ops 6, it will significantly reduce the numbers. Ricochet has also shared it has enhanced AFK detections to fight against account boosting in Warzone and Black Ops 6.
