Bruce Pearl is the head coach of the Auburn Tigers, a team competing in the Southeastern Conference. He is in his 11th season with The Plains, as of March 2025, according to the Auburn Tigers website. He achieved multiple honors, including the NCAA Division I Regional – Final Four in 2019, the NCAA Division II tournament in 1995, the GLVC regular season four times in 1994, 1996, 1997, and 2001, and the Horizon League tournament two times in 2003 and 2005. In addition to these, he also won the SEC regular season three times in 2008, 2018, and 2022. Additionally, he bagged two SEC tournaments in 2019 and 2024. Pearl has also coached Tennessee, Milwaukee, and Southern Indiana in his career. He began his head coaching career with Indiana and led the team to the NCAA tournament each of the nine seasons he stayed.

Pearl was also an assistant coach for the Stanford Cardinal men’s basketball team from 1982 to 1986 and the Iowa Hawkeyes men’s basketball team from 1986 to 1992. He has led his teams in Division I toward four conference championships and four conference tournament championships. His teams have also qualified for the NCAA Tournament eleven times. Additionally, he helped his teams reach one Final Four. In the history of the SEC, Pearl is the only head coach in football or men’s basketball to lead two schools, namely Auburn and Tennessee, to a No. 1 national ranking, in 2022 and 2008, respectively. On January 19, 2017, in his 691st game, he became the 21st fastest coach to win 500 wins in Auburn’s 78 - 74 win against LSU. With Team USA, Pearl bagged a gold medal at the 2009 Maccabi Games. Basketball Weekly acknowledged Pearl as one of the top division assistants in the country in 1988, according to the Auburn Tigers website.
