Kasparas Jakucionis is a collegiate player for the Illinois Fighting Illini men’s basketball team in the Big Ten Conference. Jakucionis is in his freshman season and plays as a guard as of June 2025. Kasparas Jakucionis played for FC Barcelona's second team and also received some time with their first team. According to the Illinois Fighting Illini official website, he played 19 games for Barcelona's second squad in the 2023–24 season. He won MVP in Belgrade, Serbia, and guided U18 FC Barcelona to a 4-0 group stage record, guaranteeing a spot in the Berlin finals for the second consecutive year, as per his college roster.

Kasparas Jakucionis was chosen for the ANGT Finals All-Tournament squad in Kaunas, Lithuania, and won MVP of the Adidas Next Generation Tournament qualifier in Zadar, Croatia, in 2022–2023. In 2022 and 2023, he competed for Lithuania in the FIBA U16 and FIBA U18 European Championships. He played a crucial role in Lithuania's road to the gold medal in the U16 Championship, according to his college roster. He was invited to the green room after breaking the news for the 2025 NBA Draft. Jakucionis won the Naismith Trophy Player of the Year and Midseason All-America Third Team (by The Sporting News). He started 33 games by recording 15 points, 4.7 APG (assists) and secured third in rebounding rate (5.7 RPG).
