For his national side, Zapala 7.5 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.0 blocks per game for the Polish National Team at the 2019 U18 FIBA European Championships, and the team reached the championship game. Additionally, he also took part in the U20 Polish Cup and played for Trefl Sopot. He led his side to the championship game. Following his performance, Zapala was honored with the MVP award.
