Jake Smith is a wide receiver for the Arizona State Sun Devils and is a redshirt senior in 2024. Smith was Arizona's Gatorade Player of the Year in 2018 and was included on the USA Today All-USA second team. The Scottsdale, Arizona native earned a selection in the All-Arizona first-team twice, in 2017 and 2018. He was also a finalist for the Ed Doherty Award (2018).

As a senior in high school, he made 58 receptions for 1,070 yards and 39 touchdowns. He also accounted for 2,538 all-purpose yards, including 193 returning kicks and 155 returning punts. Before committing to Arizona State, he was at the Texas Longhorns in 2019, receiving 25 catches for 274 yards and scoring six touchdowns. Smith transferred to USC but didn't play any collegiate games due to a foot injury. As per his official Arizona State Sun Devils profile, he is pursuing a career in Liberal Studies.
