The Home Depot Coach of the Year Award is a yearly honor presented to the best Head Coach of a college football team of that season. The criteria to win the award is leadership, guiding the team to success, and exceeding expectations during the season. It is viewed as one of the premier coaching accolades in college football and is awarded as a part of the ESPN College Football Awards ceremony.

List of The Home Depot Award Winners Year by Year

The Home Depot Award began in 1994. The winner is selected by the American Broadcasting Company (ABC) and ESPN. The award for the Division I Football Bowl Subdivision has partnered with NCAA, CBS Sports, and TNT Sports, as per NCAA.org. Bobby Bowden from Florida State was the first winner of the award and the most recent winner is Kalen DeBoer from Washington who won in 2023. Brian Keith Kelly is the only coach who has won the award thrice, as of December 2024.
