Is it time to drop Jadeja?

Chennai Super Kings are at the top of the points table after yet another last-over win in this year's IPL. CSK have played some astonishing cricket and have snatched victories from the jaws of defeat a number of times this season.

However, CSK haven't dominated in the manner in which they would have liked. Almost all the matches they have played have gone to the last over which shows there are still few issues that need to be addressed.

The poor form of some of the crucial players is one of the issues that needs to be resolved. The team have persisted with some players for far too long now, and their performances need to be assessed. We will look at 2 such players who have been terribly out of form and should be dropped from CSK's playing XI.

#2 Harbhajan Singh

Harbhajan is the senior-most bowler in CSK's bowling line-up, but his performance in the season so far have been below par. In the 4 matches that Harbhajan has played this year, he has taken just 2 wickets with a high economy of 9 runs per over.

The Indian off-spinner has bowled just 10 overs in the 4 matches that he has played which shows the lack of confidence the team management has in him. He can be replaced by Karn Sharma who had an outstanding season with Mumbai Indians last year.

#1 Ravindra Jadeja

One of the biggest disappointments for CSK this season has been Ravindra Jadeja. Jadeja was retained by the team before the auction and expectations were really high. But, unfortunately, he has been awfully out of form with both the bat and ball.

In 6 matches this season, Jadeja has taken only one wicket, giving away runs at an economy of 8.40 runs per over. He was given the opportunity to bat in the middle overs, but failed to make the most of it. He has scored a meager 47 runs in these 6 matches and has let the team down more often than not. Jadeja can be replaced by Delhi batsman, Dhruv Shorey, who has been a consistent performer in the domestic circuit.
