Moeen Ali was signed by the RCB last season along with other spin bowling options such as Washington Sundar and Murugan Ashwin. He was given an opportunity to play only towards the latter parts of the league when RCB were knocked out as the team management placed its faith on the local talents first.
Moeen had a very paltry season scoring 77 runs and picking up just 3 wickets in the 5 matches he played. He has had a better outing in T20s after the IPL scoring 367 runs in 14 innings at a strike rate of 170 and has a healthy average of 31.7. He has not fared worse in bowling either picking up 10 wickets in 12 matches but has been expensive and has an economy rate of 8.85.
