Tye is an expert of variations and his knuckleballs are still an enigma for the batsmen. In 2015 Indian Premier League, Andrew Tye was a member of CSK.

The 32-year-old didn’t get an opportunity to perform in the playing XI and then following the Chennai Super Kings suspension, Tye transferred to the now-defunct Gujarat Lions, where he performed for a couple of years between 2016 and 2017. In 2017, he made his debut in Indian Premier League and played 5 matches for GL and took 13 wickets at an economy of 6.81.

In the 2018 IPL auction, He was bought by Kings XI Punjab. Andrew Tye turned out to be the highest wicket-taker in that season as he picked up 24 wickets in just 14 games.

If Andrew Tye had got the opportunity a few years back during his time with Chennai Super Kings, he would not have been traded to other franchises.
