5 Players Who Should Get a Look-in for Delhi Daredevils

It has been the same story for Delhi Daredevils in the 11th edition of IPL, as even with Gautam Gambhir at the helm, the Delhi-based franchise is looking out of sorts.

The success that Gambhir brought to Kolkata Knight Riders filled the Delhi fans with the hope that this time the results will be in their favor, but so far, the left-handed skipper has failed to deliver the goods.

Ricky Ponting and Gautam Gambhir need to take some tough decisions if they want to change their fortunes quickly.

Let us have a look what those changes can be for the Daredevils:

#1 Avesh Khan in for Mohammed Shami

Mohammed Shami has been dealing with a lot of problems off the field, and in the last game he looked very rusty and has not lived up to his reputation so far in the tournament.

Delhi tried Harshal Patel in place of Shami, but he was expensive and lacked the x-factor to help Trent Boult.

Indore-born fast-bowler Avesh Khan could be the perfect replacement for Shami and can provide the team important breakthroughs, and with his tall frame, he will get more out of the surface than Shami and Harshal Patel.

#2 Daniel Christian in for Chris Morris

Daniel Christian can be a better option rather than that of Chris Morris

Delhi's woes in IPL continues as they have lost four matches out of five and are now looking down the barrel early in the tournament once again.

South African all-rounder Chris Morris was their best performer in last year's IPL, but he has failed in all the matches he has played so far and did not look threatening at all, with the bat or ball.

It is now time for Ricky Ponting to bring in the Australian all-rounder, Daniel Christian, in place of Morris.

#3 Jayant Yadav in for Shahbaz Nadeem

Shahbaz Nadeem has been an impactful player for the Delhi franchise for the past few seasons, but in the three games that he has played, this season he has looked below average. He went for runs in the powerplay and did not look threatening in the middle overs either.

Jayant Yadav can be tried instead of Nadeem; the all-rounder from Haryana hasn't played a single match in this year's IPL but was an integral part of Daredevils last year.

#4 Gurkeerat Singh Mann in for Vijay Shankar

Australia v India - Game 3
Gurkeerat can be a better option than Vijay Shankar who is short of confidence.

Vijay Shankar has been a promising young all-rounder but he has failed to deliver with the bat or ball this season. The setup of Delhi is such that Shankar does not fit in the scheme of things.

The team management can look for Gurkeerat Singh, as he can provide much more than Shankar in the bowling department and Delhi certainly needs to work on their bowling in the middle where they are leaking plenty of runs.

#5 Colin Munro in for Jason Roy

Munro hasn't fired for Delhi in the limited chances he got and will be rearing to go.

Colin Munro has just played two games and was replaced by Jason Roy in the third match, who scored a brilliant 91 to help Delhi hand their lone victory in this IPL.

While attempting a catch in the last game against RCB, Roy hurt his shoulder and left the field.

Munro is a likely replacement for the injured Englishmen.
