5 times Virat Kohli was dismissed in the 90s
- It didn't happen often but even Kohli isn't infallible to the nervous nineties.
94 vs West Indies, Kingston, 2011
India toured West Indies in 2011 for 5-match ODI series. After clinching the series already in the first three ODIs, India lost in the 4th one-day by 103 runs and the focus shifted to dead rubber in Kingston. In the final ODI, West Indies won the toss and chose to field first.
The batting team lost its openers very quickly and were left reeling at 21-2 after 7 overs. Kohli, along with Rohit Sharma took India to a score of 251 which was too little to defend for the Indian bowlers and India ultimately lost the game. Kohli made 94 off 104 with 10 fours and got run-out on the last delivery of the 36th over.
This was the second time Kohli missed out on a well-deserved century in the ODIs and the first instance when he got run-out in the 90s.Published 18 Jun 2018, 23:05 IST
