After a successful career as a solid opening batsman for Australia, Geoff Marsh became only the third cricketer to have two of his sons playing Test cricket. Both Shaun and Mitchell, the former a left-handed top order batsman, and the latter a genuine all-rounder, are current members of the Australian cricket team.

In the IPL, elder son Shaun has had the maximum success as he has been one of the most prolific run scorers for Kings XI Punjab, the only franchise he has played for. The southpaw has scored 2477 runs at an average of 39.95 and a strike rate of 132.74 and also won the Orange Cap in 2008 after scoring 616 runs in the season.

Younger brother Mitchell, who made himself unavailable for IPL 2018, preferring to play county cricket, has been part of three franchises namely Deccan Chargers, Pune Warriors India and Rising Pune Supergiants. He has not been able to replicate his International success in the IPL as he has scored a mere 226 runs at 18.83 and picked 20 wickets at 20.7 in 20 IPL matches.

Their father, Geoff, was made head coach of the now defunct franchise Pune Warriors India in 2011, and both him and Mitchell were part of the PWI setup in the same year. His stint, though, was not fruitful as the team ended second last on the points table.
